especially if game assumes a nonlinear plot, it already should occupy a lot of time)))

It took me 35 hours to beat Far Cry 2, I'm hoping for the same amount of time in 3.

Should be long but no too long, and no boring like Far Cry 2 (driving and driving).

I don't really think it should matter how long the story is. As long as the story is exciting, filled with thrills and an occasion twist to the plot, I'm okay with whatever Ubisoft does with it.
