My existing box has issues. Fixing them is a pain. The issues only appear when gaming, for the rest of the time its great for all the business stuff.

I also am expanding business and need a new workstation. So... I am going to need to buy a new PC. Rather than just buy a cheapie workstation PC for the new employee.... I plan on giving them my PC so I can get a new rocking gaming machine to use for both! I love being the boss.....

So anyhow, What recommendations on specs?

What Processor speed should I get?
I was planning on 1 GB or RAM, do I need more?
What video card is the best these days?

I dont want to spend more than $1500. I dont need a monitor. I want a very fast machine that will run IL2 in full perfect mode with zero stutter and high frame rates. I figure if the box will run IL2 like that.... it will run ANY game!

Thanks,

Terry

Hi Terry,
Nice to see you back here.
(I got kinda worried after trying to help you a while back.... as if all suggestions ppl made had worked out so very bad that you weren't even able to get the machine running and not able to get back here....Your last post being (...) " Ok, I'll try that and (...) ") ... silence....

Wise descision to get a new machine...
However, I shouldn't be posting at all now, because I certainly cannot help you here, I'm not much into current hardware & prices!
Good luck!

No such PC exists as of today or even in the near future that can perform as you want at any price, much less $1,500.00

Still, you can come very close and still be within your budget. Let's start with a case. Yes, get just the case and not the lousy power supplies that come with them...

Put this power supply in it...

and no, Antec ain't makin' it these days, especially on the 12 volt rail area.

You need to wait a couple of weeks or as much as a month before the AMD 64 motherboards will be capable of DDR2. Be very picky about the motherboard you get. It will dictate how far you can upgrade and how you can tweak it.

Then you have to decide nVidia vs. ATI. If you must have prefect water 3.0, expect even with a FX chip with 1 MB of cache, you are still going to get a big frame rate hit. Then there is the power consumption needs of the nVidia boards that translates into heat and heat issues. If you are willing to spend big bucks on water cooling, you can go with an Ultra card. If not, I'd stick with an ATI 800XTPE.
