About The Ranking System:

With the last auto-update, the ranking system has changed a bit. The range of levels against which you can now gain/lose points has increased.

Here Are a Few Examples

Playing against two players of the same level --> gain or lose between 9 and 11 points

Playing against two players ranked 5 levels less --> gain 4 or 5 points or lose 15 or 16 points

Playing against two guys ranked 5 levels more --> gain 15 or 16 points or lose 4 or 5 points

Playing against two guys ranked more than 10 levels less --> gain 0 points or lose 19 or 20 points

Playing against two guys ranked more than 10 levels more --> gain 19 or 20 points, or lose 0 or 1 points
About Level Gap Option:

To optimize your score, you can use the Level Gap option. This option specifies against which type of players you want to play. If you are level 8 and specify a level gap of 2, only people ranked between 6 and 10 will see your game session. So only these people will be able to join your game session.

I have played 2 other people same, higher, and lower ranked and i have not lost 1 single point. How does it work when somebody leaves half way through the game? How does it work if you play somebody higher and his partner is lower in rank than you? The points thing is understood but UBI never came out to tell us how all of the specifics work.

You get a penalty and that is taken in account in the next game you finish. Like you've got 40points, you leave half way, nothing happened to the score, you play another game, you win, you get 2 instead of 10 points, which makes the overall score 42 instead of 50.
This is how it works, but not very detailed.

Apparently the percentage reflects the percentage of ranked games that you have completed (e.g. those that you did not drop out of or lag out of).
