The following settings are located within the bia.ini file (located in SYSTEM folder).
Don't forget to make a BACKUP of your original bia.ini file, and then make sure your modified bia.ini file is set to READ ONLY to prevent the game overwriting the modifications you've just made.
Tweaking them *may* improve your game, please add more if you find them:

Right click on the bia.ini after you make your modifications and click on properties and Check the Read-Only check box and press ok.

Edit them with notepad.
And ther are the first bia files in the system folder... there are two bia files. Right click and look at properties and see what the format is. Same with user. its on the bottom.

I HAVE to clear something up for you guys:
The CacheMegSize parameter is ONLY for cacheing online objects (like maps and other things).
Proof?
Set it to one ("1") and the game will still start.
(You can't set it to zero ("0"), however, because it needs at least one MB to initialize the engine)
This is the same for ALL games that use Unreal Engine. This goes for Splinter Cell, Raven Shield, UT2004 (obviously) and others.
I just thought you guys would want to know that...

You have to add it at the bottom of your other values, save it, then set the bia.ini file to READ ONLY.

I need to get BIA working at 85Hz. I have changed the value from 60 to 85 at DesiredRefreshRate=85 under [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]. (default.ini)
But it's not working! It still keeps on running at 60Hz.
Someone a solution?
Thanks.
EDIT: Hmm, i will try BIA.INI http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I think that's the solution. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Setting the refresh rate in the bia.ini file may not have any effect (please post to let everyone know if it does). If your using an ATI RADEON card with the Catalyst drivers, you can configure all games to run at the same refresh rate of your desktop via the DISPLAYS tab of the Display Properties by setting the REFRESH RATE OVERRIDE to "same as desktop" (and set your desktop to 85Hz).

Try using the following to remove the echo:
UseEAX=False
Use3DSound=True

[ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem]
UseEAX=True
Use3DSound=False
Channels=64
-
EAX is for 5.1 audio
You can also change to which EAX you want - 1 2 or 3
3DSound is usually for 2 speakers I believe.. Or headphones to give the effect of well.. 3d sound :S lol
Not a good Idea to enable both!

i believe the BiA.int file is the key to fixing all of those null errors, any1 knows of wut to edit to fix tis error:
Build: (null)
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 2809 MHz [975451127808.000000 0] with 510MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (6693)
General protection fault!

I find UseEAX=False + Use3DSound=True gives a more realistic sound overall. With UseEAX=True, the characters voices dont sound realistic, still a slight echo effect to them (sounds like the EAX effect is set to "Auditorium"). I have the same card/speakers as you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you haven't tried this, go into your video card settings and check Use Application Preference if you are using custom settings.

I have found that using :
UseEAX=True
Use3DSound=False
Channels=64
the echo is still there. If I lower the EAX value to 2, the echo goes away but yu have the issue of missing voice commands. e.g. Baker points to a spot for the team to move to but there is no voice command following.
Interestingly I get sound from all 5 speakers
Any suggestions ????
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum
Logitech Z-680 speakers.

For some reason that thread isnt there anymore, one wounders why given that its an american game* and its a french site, but whatever, I can only assume or rather hope to assume that it got closed for some legitimate reason as I dont want to get introuble for this either, but Ill risk it because this game is a joke with consolitus drains on realism and emersment, its childish and their is no reason that PC gamers should have to have the experiance detracted inorder to keep an air of sub standards for the console versions, either that or just blatent lazyness, dunno which is worse, been going over that for that past few years and I'm still at ends, dosnet help that thinking about it is disheartening on terms of one's faith in humanity, but I think its safe to say that nither is in any way acceptable and at the very least they could do is allow users to do the leg work for whats allready part of the program and engine themselves, if only to not give off the impression it gives when devs do that.
So here is the work around that we used way back when this came out, (lol never seen a forum quite so ****ed off before when bia rth30 came out, well, it would soon be followed by the rape of the clancy franchises with lockdown, vegas, graw, rvs for the console, and so on so on its just keeping to get worse... but for that brief moment, oi it would be hard to find a comparison in hostility).

And you can bind that to any key,the idea is that your regularly inputing the comand as so that you arent constantly having to retype it, as if I recall it would reset constantly even during a single session and single map.
You still need to bind it to the user in the system folder and you need to like with everything lock both files into a read only, but other than that it works.
Though, Im surprised that there arent more official ways to do this, it seems like gearbox finaly fullfilled some of their promises interms of allowing users fix their mistakes and lackiesms as people had been begging them for years after the game came out. I finaly gave up on it, but it looks like I was wrong to a certian extent. I love being wrong http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
Still, that being said I havent seen any so heres what I use, hope thats enough for what you were looking for.
*As opposed to say the intense and rigorous state enforced censorship of germany or australia... well... mabey thats not entirely fair to the australians as far as the blatent and shining example that the german government holds for the first world countries... but its not like they arent trying. There are a few other western nations that rack up there in the creepy/annoying ranks of that insecure need for the illusion of control, god knows America isnt exactly exempt from this; of course the fact that our censorship is allmost entirely self imposed is just that much more sad on our part lol, we realy dont have any excuses, lol and even if we did it wouldent matter. God thats funny, in a sad sick depressing redeemable only by shear force of irony kind of way...
The fact that crytek had to hunt down all elements of modifications that adjusted the ragdoll's on crysis and do their best to lock out any possibility of this modification is incredibly creepy expecialy on the international scale... kinda ****es me off that the sites took off the files, though not like they realy had much of a choice. lol dispite cryteks protests that all they did was ask lol, like as if a modsite thats dedicated signifigant resources to their game is going to in any way do anything that would get anywhere near their bad side, and as if, if they did that it wouldent have repercusions, though to be fair since everyone did what they asked and the only way to get the work around is in mislabeled passworded files posted to mass upload sites, accessed by a verrrry few rare and rather obscure fan sites (I only know one and that was a f*cking b*tch to find, ironicly its the german users who came up with it, thats awsome).
Whats even more baffelingly laughable is that they have no problem with uploding gore modifications and with the crytek engine... MY god its incredible what you can do in that regard, including physics based blood that leaks all over the body and ground, physiscs based arterial spraying that acts as a source for it, and this is coordinated by the blood damage model that crysis uses for its npcs, which means things like what happens if you hit some one in the heart or aorta, neck, head, or the leg or gut, and so on so on...
Course whilst you blow off the limbs of your enemy what would just be a horrible blow to the sanctity of the world, would be if the limb bounced around, but that's ok cause it blows apart into little chunks and those bounce for a bit before they disapear (you can kick em around too, basicly cause their not part of the ragdoll skeleton and they work more as a particle effect or something...) yes, this makes sense well done germany, you've made the world safe for your citizens, you can now go out and play...
Id feel better about all this if my country wasent the one's who use content advisory labels as a marketing tool allmost expressly, and if one dosent want to submit to their label they lock you out of any real chance you would have to actualy promote, and or distribute whatever it is your trying to on any mass accessable scale (course that depends on where you live, citys like new york and minneapolis are realy great in providing art venues and there are allways film festivles, but beyond that your not going to be able to distribute your product or art given they all have deals with the organizations that have been tasked as the "official" trustworthy single athourity of content advisory for the particular market... lol. But Ill take that over the forced alternative, theres a difference between banned and being beaten into a crumpled ball, and for one if anything the fact that it IS in any small way realisticly reversable is a glimer of hope that people in my country might grow up, though, I doubt it, at least I can go and ignore them...
wow, didnt sit down to write that, dunneven know if its qualified for why the admin took off the post lol sorry.

That will let you trip over the corpses or ***** slap them and such if you so require it...
ABSOLUTLY have no tolerance for shooters that disregard corpses, and nine times out of ten they deserver a few extra rounds, though, this game is a rare exeption to that rule given the subject matter, either way throw on the karma tack to it and you have a full fledge un-f*cking of this small and insignifigant sliver of gearboxes obcene consolitus substandardism... kinda, its still kinda meh, but were at tolerance at all in the first place.
