Armor Question

I have all the ranks of armor currently unlocked. I think the Anaconda is the ugliest armor in the game, looks like a matress. :X

Do heavy armors increase with protection using higher ranks of heavy armor, or are all light/medium/heavy armors the same, regardless of rank. They show the same protection with the bars, but Anaconda seems to protect me more then lets say the Goliath.

Another question, if I were to apply heavy armor to lets say the chest, and light armor to the rest, and I was only getting shot in the chest, would it count as heavy armor?

1. no, the armor you unlock at higher ranks offer the same protection as the ones you start out with

2. the game treats armor as an overall index. also it doesnt even matter where on your body you wear the armor, the game treats it as overall protection.


they count as total armor index, so if you have heavy chest, low arms, medium legs etc... the total index number where it says protection is what matters.

index 0-3 = light
index 4-6 = medium
index 7-10 = heavy
