View Full Version : Far Cry 3 Wishlist (Add your own Wishes!)

Well, i'm sure you're all as stoked as I am for the announcement of Far Cry 3, and looking at the first gameplay footage we can tell it's going to be a beauty, i'd like to add a few suggestions to the developers to make the game the absolute best it can be
First and Foremost, an actual map editor, although, i'm almost certain that traditionally there will be a map editor making it in Far Cry 3
Better Vehicles, Far Cry 2's vehicles were a nice addition, but alot of the time they were frustrating, being slow, breaking down all the time and having generally poor physics, i'd love to see some improvement in that field, (Particuarly because i'm eager to make a nice racetrack in the new game)
Possible Airbourne Vehicles - Yeah, we all know the last Far Cry Games had gliders, but they were only temporary flight vehicles, I'd spend hours in a stolen helicopter or plane just flying around drooling over the spectacular environment you create.
More Game modes - Yes, Far Cry 2 only had a dissapointing 4 game modes, In which I only really enjoyed TDM, DM, And CTD. I'd love to see some other interesting types created and i feel it would give more inspiration to some of the outstanding map editing veterans to the game.

Airbourne vehicles would be cool, But don't you think they will defeat the object of the game..
Your a man stuck on an island, if you had a plane or helicopter you would just fly away!

*Be able to make lots of traps
*Don't make it over the top (No high tech weapons etc)
*Carniverous animals
*Blowpipes!! With or without poison
*Small scale destruction (Small buildings & structures)
*More variety in side missions! Not just assasinations.
*Prone! For hiding in vegitation from the enemy.

Vehicles breaking down all the time?? I've never yet seen a Far Cry 2 Vehicle break down unless it was all shot up, or blown to bits and that is kind of logical. Take your own car out and shoot the heck out of it, do you suppose it might break down?
If you would have bought the upgrade ( 15 diamonds I think,some 10 ) for the AV's, cars, jeeps, fishing boats ( really need one for fishing boat for Barge scene begining of act 2 ) you would not have a hard problem of the vehicles even taking any hits and if they did it only takes about three or four clicks of the magic wrench to fix it instead of 10 or twelve times and you keep getting hit because you did not buy.
Buts that's the beauty of the game sometimes, for if you don't pay attention to the game ( vehicles and all ) every thing goes to pot and what happens?-------"Whaaa I don't like this game."
Don't know about FC3 but FC2's roads are all dirt and one lane ( yeah that was kind of lame I'll admit ) and any vehicle that goes over 55 mph ( 100 kph ? ) will not handle some of the curves. Yeah I know the AI's AV will catch you but watch the AI and his foot to the floor idea for a lot of times the idiot rolls it or flips it in the river. Crazy ain't it?

I doubt very much the FC3 Devs will make a race track on the FC3 Island or even room for one.

•Destructible Environments (It shouldn't be too hard, since there aren't really any large buildings)
•The ability to go prone
•Less repetitivity in the side missions and more storyline
•Different melee weapons (machete, knife, hatchet, etc.)
•Dynamic storyline and multiple ways to complete every mission

Hopefully co-op (probably not)
Tree or Rock climbing
Progressive skills in single player hence the XP
More water vehicles such as jet ski
No high tech weapons as mentioned above ( a feeling of survival and scavanging)
Maybe grabbing AI characters as human shields

TRAPS
LOTS and I mean LOTS of places to EXPLORE

1: Attachments
2: one Golden guns for each class e.g shotgun, sniper..
3: Items e.g claymores, IEDs, traps.
4: More verried missions.
5: Buddys that can follow you..

I would like several non-respawn multiplayer modes. Whether it would be elimination, or demolition, it would be nice to play a counter-strike-like game on well-designed maps.

It's recently come to my attention that practically nothing (as far as gamedev tools go) other than FarCry2 editor has an invert Y option in the editor viewport - I've been checking out other game editors & 3D CGI software and I found 1 other editor (too old to be used) that has this option - So I say - include the invert-Y-axis in viewport option and you have a happy mapper.

If nobody mentions it I will: I wish there would not be major bugs left in the game this time or at least, showing proper attitude toward the customer, they'll be patched afterwards. If this comes to fruition that will alleviate the resentment that I still carry since FC2.
In fact, I really don't like Ubi Soft because of that and their DRM. Oh, and btw, leave DRM out from the game please! (I don't know if they still apply that protection to their games, but I hope they don't.)

color pallet in the editor would be nice. but if you mean things that aren't pleaded for too much, I wouldn't mind busting a log or dead branch over someone's head. Any game where anything in the environment can be picked up and used as a weapon sells.

That's a fair point, but well, it's dependant on the objective on the game, Maybe within the story you're working with Vas, he seems to be the driving force of Far Cry 3's story, Fingers crossed for airbourne vehicles :3

It won't be difficult for them to create a story where the protagonist won't want to leave until he's achieved an objective. The introduction said that his girlfriend is missing, so there's one reason already.
Please developers, make the game running with SSE processors like Athlon XP.
Dunia engine in FC2 was not supporting SSE procedure.

• The main thing is keeping the Map Editor!
• Secondly I'd like more choices in the way you can setup online matches, specifically in limiting weapon choices. If I want to set up some sniper games then I want to limit the weapons to just Sniper Rifles and disable the use of machine guns etc. I always found it a little annoying when you're playing a sniper game with a group of players and then someone comes up and shoots you with a machine gun.
-make this engine for FC3 compatible with SSE processors like Ahlon XP and maybe a SSE patch for FC2

I think he means faster cars so, (like many many many other people across all the games)he can make a racetrack in the map editor.
There will be plenty of room, Jason VandenBerghe, narrative director for the game said “If you look at the vistas and the scale of Far Cry 1 and 2, take that and multiply it by ten,” so basically this "island" is going to be like a smallish country. Far Cry 3 gameworld 10x that of its predecessors (http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2011/07/05/far-cry-3-gameworld-10x-that-of-its-predecessors/)
As for the vehicles, they did damage a little too easy, even with the repair upgrade my cars would start to smoke after 10 mins driving along the dirt roads only, they need to make them just a little more resilient.

-When doing missions for new guns and such its should have a variety of different missions for example: Retrieving information on another gun dealers trade routes, or locating and destroying a gun manufacturing hideout.
-Yes, helicopters are a must and planes don't have to be high speed since its a run down island you can just have old propellar planes (**** grammar).
- Weapon customization scopes,silencers,shotgun attachments, flash light attached to disorientate an enemy at night time (what would be cool if the enemy actually has a delay to attack and covers his eyes for 2 seconds and giving the player and opportunity to escape the perimeter or take him out silently or even cause a huge gun fight)
- Being able to plant C4 on the bottom of cars to cover your escape.
- Climbable tree/fauna or even tree houses as safe houses or used as watch towers to give the player a challenge when walking through the bush.
- Explosive arrows
- Knifes attached to guns
- double mags for faster reload
- BEING ABLE TO SEE YOU GOD **** FEET FOR ONCE while moving around giving the player a more realistic view
- dead body interaction for example: moving the body to stay hidden (maybe moving the body with one hand and have a pistol in the other to take out targets who see you moving the body or have the option of moving the body with 2 hands making it faster and more mobile but sacrificing the will to kill fast), Shooting holes in dead bodies, also being able to retrieve arrows like 25% chance of retrieving.
- explosions that don't kill but knock you of your feet ( running away then bam explosion behind you and you character stumbles but recovers using his right hand on the ground).
Last one lol:
- This is a MUST: Or i wont buy this game (no i will but i wont be happy) Being able to pick up enemy radio and listen in on a conversation for a mission, or when they suspect you are in the vacinity. Please try and use the idea countless games neglect this reality.

No, As stated by one of the game directors they have you bound to the island because Jason's girlfriend is lost. So that's why having planes doesn't destroy the object of the game.Not until after you have found her it destroys the object of the game.

Realistic reload animation durations, reloads in FC2 were pretty fast..they should be slower in FC3..

I've never been one for the single player, the main attraction has always been the map editor. Sure, many of the suggestions I'm about to reel off are impossible, or illogical in the environment that FC3 is set in, it's what I'd like to see?
Destructable buildings (Or at least walls)
Placeable animals (Set them to free roam, let them wander about the playable area munching on players as they attempt to sneak round the MG placement)
Driveable tanks/APCs (Sure, a wild card, but it'd be nice to at least have the option of putting some run down, cold war era machinery into the game)
Placeable bodies/Blood/guns/ammo (I like my maps with a good story, and while nobody will ever appreciate what's going on in my head, I'd like to try and show them with some corpses and bullet shells, to try to get my message across. Call me sick or whatever)
A backstory? (Maybe, a nice little description of the map, so I could try to get the story across - inside a box under the title, with all the download details beside it)
Nameable areas (Two ways; name the capture points? Or have mini playable zones, within the playable zone, that can be named?)
Larger array of weapons
Larger array of vehicles
Better landscape abilities (I used to see waterfalls on the campaign, it'd be nice to craft my own and stash a base behind it)
Palette textures (Yes, I know it's a jungle, but now and again I like to expand my horizons, why not give us the ability to paint a road, or a sidewalk - why not let us craft an entire city?)
Bigger map zone (Self explanatory, I had big dreams, but not a big enough canvas)
Bots? (Possibly THE most improbable addition, would be CPU bots that can be placed onto a map. So you select the skin, and then whatever weapon they have. Could set them to patrol, and build their path similar to an invisible road, on sentry duty, or free roam like the animals. Could always build a gladiator arena where animals and bots fight to the death!)
Bigger, badder, more random objects (The array of objects in FC2 was good, and satisfied me; but if they could think of anything new to throw in, or even some oldies to bring back, then go for it?)

- Airborne vehicles ( Water and land) For seeing scenery, missions, sidemissions, fast travelling. (Japanese waterplane rare type)
- Having hideouts in exotic locations such as mountain, trees. Upgradeable hideouts.
- Exotic locations, some old port \ fortress , strange ruins which you can explore and where you can get sidemissions.
- Weapons like spears, throwing knives, axes, some selfmade weapons like clubs.
- No weapon combat, like hand takedowns,and fighting.
- Nice things to do in locations or hideouts like boxing/fighting, bowshoooting challenges, fingerfillet , etcra
- Weapon pickup animation.
- Hideouts which are close to enemy territory and which are already made free are getting some times an assault. ( not annoying often )
- Cities with a no fire zone
- You can turn against friends so you can choose for an faction ( reputation ).
And most important getting most bugs out of the game, such like flying weapons above the ground see E3 trailer 2012 at the end.

things i want in the editor
be able to spray textures(like cracks on walls) on objects not just terrain like fc2
invisible barrier to prevent players leaving the playable area instead of using up turned buildings
be able to age objects
a huge selection of textures to use and be able to adjust texture colour with slider bar
background (outside of playable area) animations like smoke or a plane passing over (like dice do in bf3 and bfbc2)
large selection of sounds as background sounds like gun fire

Lots of Easter Eggs paying homage to the other FC games. I realize the FC3 is it's own story, but it would be real cool to see a random APR poster in someone's room.
