Question is: How come they get great reviews prior to release from Game Review sites? Interesting.

Because if they don't like the ratings one of those sites give, UBI won't send them an advance free copy of any of their other games. If the site doesn't get the advanced copies, they can't review the game. If they can't review games, they go out of business.

That makes complete sence... it all seems so crook'ed and wrong.
Thanks Dex

That might be true if ubi was the only game developer around. TG they are not.

Kotaku always has some good stuff. I still haven't bought this game and it's for the same reasons they describe. I'm not forking over any money right now, because I won't get what I'll pay for.
I'd just keep hoping for the great experience RB6V teases everyone with. It happened in the last game, and it would be even worse with this one.

You think UBI would be the only dev to hold out on anyone that gave their game a bad review? They all do it, which is why it's very rare that you see anything badly reviewed by places like IGN, Gamespot, Teamxbox, OMX, PCGamer, etc.
The only ones that tend to ever give bad reviews when bad reviews are due are the places that don't get advanced copies. However, that means they can't review the game until it comes out have had a chance to play it like everyone else.
Oh and not only should you be weary of these bloated reviews, you should pretty much disregard any of their reviews about multiplayer. They review multiplayer with these advanced copies, which means the player base is extremely limited and not a true indication of what multiplayer will be like once the game hits shelves. All they're really good for is knowing what the game modes/weapons will be and what kind of features will be available.

I have R6V2 for the 360 and I'm experiencing only a few issues. I love the game, and even though it's not the most robust sequel it feels much improved over the last one. I don't think this game is any less expansive than a majority of sequels out there.
Furthermore, Sony and Microsoft test and approve a game before it can be released and they deserve just as much blame for a supposedly unplayable game. A website devoted to video games should know this and state their opinions with a certain amount of accuracy. If Kotaku is going to hammer R6V2, than they need to spread that criticism to 75-80% of games on the market. I'm not saying Ubi doesn't deserve criticism for a buggy game, but they're not the only ones guilty of such action.

Could of been worse, you could of bought Mass effect and have your disc freeze near the end... this happened to me and many others. Yet it got good reviews, of course it did it was great up till then, theres a hell of a lot good about rsv2 thers not so much bad if we are honest. And boo hoo for those who havn't got a good connection and experience lag.

Do you want me to tell you who the Best-Non-Bias-Online-Game-Reviewer is? that is simple... This here forum!
If you like to play FPS games, all you got to do is come to the UBI forums a day or two after launch date and you will soon discover whether the game will Rock or Tank is a Vegas 2 kinda way!
I can only comment on the PC games as I don't do consoles but, if some of you would learn your lesson and quit getting bamboozles by visiting those online rags, you would save tons of money. Now, those of you who were lucky enough to have only a few bugs, consider yourself lucy but it doesn't mean that the game can not be 50% better than what it is now and this is the hardest concern for the majority of us.

Most of the reviews I've seen put it more around 8, but that's not important.

Answer:
Because I was suckered into thinking R6V2 would be as good as the 1st. I was actually naive enough to think Ubi cares about quality games.
I tell you what, until I see R6 with a Red Storm Studios logo on it, that game can stay on the shelf. I suggest you all do the same!
Dam Quebecois dev team, give the development back to the original developers!

I would start rating games here:
http://www.metacritic.com/games/
And believe you me, I have learned my lesson. No more R6 without a Red Storm Studios logo on it, that game can stay on the shelf.

Unfortunately, it's doubtful that RSE will ever create another Rainbow Six game.

Redstorm did Lockdown, the one before Vegas 1. And it wasn't any better than either Vegas, probably one of the worst R6s to date.

I thought that REd Storm was bought by UBI so, what would be the difference? Besides, a few of those Red Storm devs went out on their on and are now making a true tactical game (blackfootstudios).
Now, this will not be the game for the majority of you nice folks that all you care is to show off to your friends how cool your PEC or XP is, you can keep buying UBI games and boost up all you want... I rather you keep your so call R6 games and leave us alone but, if you really want to play a true tactical game, visit their site and help out a starting Company trying to do what's right for the community.

Ubi did buy RSE in 2000.
