Ok this is happening to me in both SH3 & 4.
SH4 I see a game and the server says 999 for ping. For sh3 there are servers that have no ping and i cant join. what is wrong here?

The 999 ping in SH4 means that the person atempting to host the game has not got his setup correct....you obviously cannot then join that game.
Some games in SH3 will show up with no ping, others will be password protected.
Try an online Flotilla...

There we play both SH3 and SH4 and will be able to talk you through the processes that will enable you to host and join in our games.
We use Teamspeak and our own maps..take a look, if it's not for you no problem.
