Apparently they're gonna settle soon. as soon as next month, probably after the 4th. the league already ordered the new goalie equipment (smaller pads, etc.), and players abroad have already started to come back, and free agents are already starting to shop around. the draft might happen over a conference call and not be televised. which sucks coz the #1 pick (it should be Sydney Crosby) is being touted as the best prospect since Mario Lemieux. Rumors of a lottery type deal might be in the works for the draft with each team having at least one ball.
