Upgrades removed after loading savegame?

Before I spend renown on upgrades I need to know, is there a bug where they are removed after loading in-mission saves?

Well, my boat started with 20 knots from St Nazaire and after a quick save/reload it was back at 17 knots. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Yes but from what I've heard, it only lasts until the end of that patrol. It's back to normal on your next.

Really now... this game is good but it's buggy as ****.

Even when I save/reload in that next mission or does it disappear again for the rest of the patrol after reloading a savegame?
