Returning to the venue after many years, I'll have a number of topics to look into. One of these at this point would be this: When painting up a personal plane scheme, what areas/items/specifics are generally considered in the community to be "required" for a paintjob to be "acceptable" before adding the little personal touches? At this point I'm not all that interested in doing the historical renditions, but like to personalize my own gaming vehicles. Thanks for any tips.

Do what you like. There are Star Wars themes, Formula 1/NASCAR themes, cartoon themes....it's all up to you. Heck, I even have a Spongebob Squarepants skin for the J8A. No rules really apply except...if you take it online on a server that allows skin downloads, remember there are folks that are minors and/or may hold opinions on images that may be considered "adult". Many of the even hisorical nosearts for instance may not be suitable. I've seen artwork that is downright "pornographic". Check the hosts rules or ask before using them. If this is your taste, my personal advice is to use them offline for your own pleasure.

As for realism, some like clean skins, some weathered. It's all a matter of personal preference. If you take some time you are sure to come up with a good skin. Post what you do and we'll tell you what we think. (Unlike other parts of the forums we tend to be polite and constructive for the most part).

Good luck. If you have any questions, just ask.

Thanks Beehop. I've messed with PSP much too long to ever be satisfied with default skins in most anything. LOL I grabbed a nice template from 1java.org, made some minor color and detail changes, added camo, and came up with this one so far. (now just gotta learn to fly it the right way. LOL)

Comments and suggestions welcome (in spite of the poor pic quality).

I've used servals template to make and upload many WarHawks, he's done a very good job with it.

As to the skins you've posted: the camo seems a bit sporadic, something more uniform would look better. Other than that I'd say you've done fine, some bigger screenies would help though.

I would suggest that you add some texturing, that is the only thing lacking from servals template as I learned.

Great Job,
Keep us posted.
