Have u ever thought what will it take to run it??
Asuming the pc version will be as good as the xbox 360(talking about tech part)what "monster- eater" pc could run it with more than 40 fps on low?... most likley it will take:
-3 GPUâ´s 6800 ultra(xbox 360 uses a gpu consisting on 48 pipelines)
-at least 1 3.2 ghz procesor (cause xbox 360 uses 3)
-lots and lots of ram
-a 4533764983 km case
-a damm nuclear power plant conected to ur pc
-an ice cube based cooling system (or set up some minisplits inside ur case hehe)
...well not exactly but it will take a hell of a machine i guess.

i would say on medium graphics it will run nice on most top end machines....
and maybe medium end machines (9800 pro card, and around there)
on low? play nice?
we have to wait for the tripple amd cores and 64pipeline nvidia cards now....
i got about 5000 saved up for just such an event that they release thoes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Grin. Develop games for PC top end machines and xbox, this is their own definition of what they do.
I would say this would be a close for minimum spec.
Operating System: Windows 2000/XP (only)
Processor: 1 GHz Pentiumâ® III or AMD Athlon (2.5 GHz Pentium IV or AMD recommended)
Memory: 266 Mb
Video Card: DirectXâ® 8 compliant 32 MB
(64 MB recommended)
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c DVD/CD-Rom drive: 4x
Sound Card: 16-bit card (32-bit recommended)
Hard Disk: 5Gb
Peripherals: Windows keyboard and mouse only
Multiplayer: 56.6 kbps modem or LAN (Broadband with 64 kbps upstream recommended)
Just a rough estimate.

Even though they say the Xbox 360 has 48 piplines, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AS GPU Pipelines. The XBox 360 pipelines work differently and only equal 12 normal GPU pipelines.
Plus the XBox 360 only has 10MB of dedicated video ram, the rest is shared system ram.
I would guess if you want to run GR3 with everything on High settings you will need....
P4 3.0^ or a AMD XP 3000 or 64 3000.
2 GB Ram.
Radeon xXXXxt pr GeForce FX6xxx series GPU.
But I bet the Game will run on a system with...
P4 2.0 or AMD XP 2100.
512 MB Ram
Ati 9000 series or GeForce 3 series GPU.
Yur also going to need a DVD-Rom, This game will not be available on CD, and alot of Ubis DVD Rom games will not run from a DVD Burner.

I think this game will take atleast a 64 mb video card, thats the minimum for splinter cell pandora tomorrow and chaos theory and considering the great tech used here may use even a 128 as minimum. Also the DirectX 9.0 C is a must for the latest games like (chaos theory, brothers in arms.. etc) so it may take that as minimum too.
is it safe to say it will run on my system?:
-6800 Gt
-2.0 ghz p4 <--- ill try to upgrade it to 2.6 or 2.8 b4 the game comes out
-768 mb ram
Hope i can get to play with good fps at least on low till i upgrade...

If you can afford to get a 3.Ghz CPU and 256 more ram, I will be willimng to bet you can run it at 1600x1200 with almost everything on high and get 60fps.
I have a AMD 64 3800(2.4)
6800 GT
And 1 Gig of ram.
I Run the new AA at 1600x1200 with everything on highest setting and graphcs card settings all at High Quality and still get 90 fps.

man i just upgraded my comp and it still looks like chump change compared to these numbers. altough i'm fine with low settings it'd be sweet to run the game to it's fullest.

yea, but the maintainance-cost is simply way too high to make the Jesus 2000 practical. First, you have to memorize every page of the HUGE manual (Bible) and THEN you have to go to the computer tech class every Sunday...

well, if this is any encouragement, GR.NET did uncover at E3 this year that the PC version of GR3 IS, at THIS point, more further along in development than even the XBOX360 version... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

GRIN is developing the PC version, and no other version.
They will be sensitive to the needs of slower PC's.
GRAW will probably have to run on the PS2 and XBOX.
The PS2 and XBOX are slow as dirt.
No matter how hard you try, you can't sell a gaming system faster than mid range PCs for under $400. It won't happen. Calm down, GRAW will run on your Geforce 6 series card. Go buy one.
topeira
08-28-2005, 04:52 PM
im not sure about that. since GRAW is going to be a lil different from the xbox360 versions (as said in gamespot.com) than i guess it should be stand alone game and can't be compared to the system specs of the ps2 or xbox cuz it wont be the same game.
GRAW looks a lil bit like battlefield2 graphic speaking and that game was DEMANDING!! if the system requirements gonna be like in bf2 than im not gonna buy it cuz bf2 ran like sh*T on my machine. however games like FarCry, half life 2, doom3 and even the F.E.A.R demo run just fine.
apollo104
08-28-2005, 06:44 PM
I'll admit, BF2 is the first game i've found that can give my system trouble... But I think one thing GRIN will be doing is making sure that most systems meet the req's. Remember, they can't sell games if we can't play them.

1st of all, sadly grin hasn't made any really good game yet, so i dont count on that too much, thuogh every great company had a first hit sometime. let's hope it's this noe for grin.
besides on their site it say "making games for the high-end gamers.

Mind you, I met with Bo Andersson (CEO of GRIN) and after talking with him for over 6 hours between 2 days, I would say, that sums up the company's sentiment perfectly. If you ask the gamers around here why they are glad I went even though they may have wished to have been the one to go and you will hear that I am a picky SOB and really understand what we want from GRAW.
Wait for my report, I hope to have it ready for release by this weekend if not the first of the week.

The Xbox 360 has three symmetric cores in the CPU, which means that its like the devs can split up the work between three CPUs. One core can be used entirely for physics, one completely for AI, and another one can be slaved to the GPU. Do you have any idea how exponentially this decreases the workload and increases the sheer amount of next gen **** this console can put out?
Don't get me wrong, I spent my hard-earned money on a near top of the line PC, and I am getting the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game. The PC version may not have better graphics, but it is a more tactical game, and pretty much an entire different can of worms altogether. I know that the Xbox 360 will be more powerful than my computer, and I don't care. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I just really hate it when PC gamers say **** about the new Xbox just because they're bitter.
In the end, PC gamers and Xbox 360 gamers are all on the same side. We get the same games,(COD2, GR3, ESIV: Oblivion) and can even play MP together in alot of cases next-gen. This is something Sonyboys miss out on.

For the love of god, why the heck are you blowing hot air about the 360... It's 97' technology its almost 2006, your obviously too busy to realize that you've been duped with M$ marketing jargon, at least they're good at that.
FYI, M$ has been trying its darndest to break into Sony's console sales for years, but its already been officially announced; even though M$ is going to release the 360 months before Sony's, it's not even gonna' come close to what their sales forcasted.
When all the dust settles your better off buying a new PC rather than a next gen console. After all the XBox is an over marketed PC.
