Hello everyone. It's been a long time, but I've been feeling the itch again lately to make some artsy stuff. For those of you who remember, I used to make sigs and wallpapers for people in the community who wanted them. So, I thought I'd start doing so again.

What you can ask for: Sigs, web banners, wallpapers, etc.

How much does it cost: Nada.

How long will it take: Hopefully just a few days from the request, but I work full time, so please be patient.

What can it contain: That's really up to you, but I reserve the right to decline an offer if I deem it inappropriate for the forums.

Size: As far as sigs go, unless you say otherwise, the size will be 500x125 pixels. With wallpapers, banners, etc. - that's up to you.

So, with that said, post your requests here! Please post them here, as I might not see PMs. Thanks.

Phin I've managed to come up with an idea for a new sig for myself. Here's the image I'd like to use:

I'd say the first one in this line took him the longest. He's got it down to a science by now. You'll notice a theme in a all the sigs he's done in this thread. His formula consists of what looks like a soft-edge clipping mask around the main character/focus of the sig, a couple layers of Render Difference Clouds, 45 degree scanlines, a couple other subtle background elements, and various filters applied to each layer. The colour scheme of the sig is probably based on a sample/s taken from the character with the eyedropper. If I had to guess, I'd say the single part that takes him the longest is picking the fonts to use, unless he's got a backlog of favourites installed that he uses regularly.

You're pretty close Mutton http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I'd say the part that takes the longest is finding the focus image and removing it from its original background (if I can't find an existing render).

Here's how I do it:

-Acquire render.
-Fill bg with white. Then, set foreground color to black, and start brushing with grunge brushes. Then invert the layer, brush again. I do this until I've got something I like. No clouds here. I then make a duplicate of this layer, set it to Overlay, and Gaussian Blur the first.
-Then I make a layer on top of that and use sparkle brushes, and set it to soft light.
-Next I use a simple cloud layer over all that with 2 colors selected from the render, and mess with the blending mode until I like it.
-Insert the render above that. I then do a 5px feather reduction 2x.
-Start a new layer or two over that, and do some brushwork and reduction to obscure the render a bit.
-Follow that up with a 2px scanline filter I made, and reduce it with a 15% opacity soft eraser.
-Finally, add the text and do any color correction, brushwork, reduction to it.
-Add a 1px black border.

I really avoid filters for the most part and focus on changes to the lighting, reduction, and brushwork. All in all, I'd say most sigs take about 45-60 minutes to make.

My bad. I honestly meant transparencies when I said "filters". i.e Multiply, Soft light, Hard Light, Overlay, etc. I shoulda also mentioned the layer blending properties, like the outer glow on yer name there. The result you get from your grunge brush technique does look very similar to the Clouds.

Hey Phin, I need a new sig. Would like a color scheme of dark purple (like Saints purple in Saints Row 2) with blue, green, and red. I'd like it to be Xbox Live oriented, perhaps tied in with Saints Row 2 and Left 4 Dead which are my 2 current favorite games right now. And the following text items noted somewhere:

FD fan
G&P member
My forum handle (which is nbajammer)
My gamertag (which as you know is nbajam77)
And mention Xbox Live somehow.

One possible thought I came up with is maybe having a Saints member (from Saints Row 2) shooting at a zombie (Left 4 Dead). But I'll look over what you come up with.
