Starforce, that's fair: advertising for another website on Ubi Forums. When I got over to your site I found that I was prohibited from even mentioning another site, much less linking to it.
That's not exactly operating in equality and good faith, is it? It actually looks predatory to me. It is a very good thing that I am not a moderator here or at Subsim. There would be a little ultimatum delivered...

I don't understand. We do advertise other sites. We have a place for people to submit links (funny nobody really has bothered). And this site is mentioned.
Also, where did you do it? I think they prohibit ads in sigs period, but I think if you were to release a mod in the silent hunter section, with a DL link to non-fn site they'd be fine.

Read it and weep. As long as that rule is there, no linking to your site should be tolerated here or at Subsim. I understand not liking links to sites to grow parts of your anatomy that half of humanity may not have. But this is all-inclusive and pointedly anti-"competition" although there can be no meaningful competition with Ubi Forums because it is the home of Silent Hunter, and there can be no meaningful competition with Subsim because it is the home to all Silent Hunter modders that matter, except our own Zoo Keepers' Modding Team. http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa293/RockinRobbins13/smileys/muttley.gif

You depend on these two websites, they do not depend on you. Level the playing field.

you attack me here and at subsim with your lies. I quote the head admin of gamming forums:
As long as it's not a site such as fileplanet or fileshack or other mainstream file downloading sites that are direct competitors to FileFront, they are allowed to have it in their signatures. I changed that whole non-advertising rule when I closed down the advertising forums.
So yes, if it's a community site, their mod site or other similar type of site they are most certainly allowed to have it in their signatures here.
================================================== =====
your words:
"But you get over to Starforce's site and what do you find? If you so much as mention Subsim"
Lies.

The above is for you, by you. Notice the "add link" at the top. If you know a site I don't know about, post it!
I don't know what your problem with me is..but I am trying to help this community. People complain about user files getting deleted, obviously when BTS mods died it was a loss to the community, however it was before I was part of it, none the less, all websites can fail or require downtime, subject to hacking ect. Having multiple hosts is beneficial. I realise filefront hasn't been exactly a gold star of service and warm fuzzyness of late..I'm a long time vetran of BCfiles.com and I feel it too, I've put alot of hard work into making that site a pillar of the community, the fact that a 10 year old game is still so heavily modded by individuals paramount would be foolish to not hire is a testiment to what it's become, and I hope I can do the same for you. I've got no skills as modeler, or a modder, aside from some simple missions fourth comming (whoopeee) so I give back where I can.
Now I ask you...kindly stop attacking me..you have no basis for your arguements and I have no desire to fight you.
Oh and for the record, nobody is forcing you to use our forums to be the home of silent hunter modding. Over at bcfiles, a site which I've run since 2002, the "home' of modding is and always has been/will be on a different forum. Nobody had a problem with it, much less me or my staff.

I reproduced your rule from your website. Clearly, if that rule exists on the site, I do not conform to your specific accusation and characterization of one who "lies." That puts you in direct violation of Ubi posting policy.
Let's do it again for those who may not be following along. Let's also clarify that you called me a liar AFTER I published the proof. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif (bad strategy there)

Your rule does exist. It specifically says that if one cannot conform they "can and will be warned or banned from the comments, site or the entire network for any period of time.
Now enjoy yourself and behave!" Seems pretty clear to me. The exact behavior that you exhibit here and at Subsim would result in banning over at your website. You say I am lying for discovering this inconvenient fact. That is very entertaining.
You will notice that I do not stoop to calling names or characterizing you in any way but confine my discussion to the objectionable behavior. According to Ubi policy you MUST do the same. Calling me names hurts your credibility, not mine.
I repeat my earlier statement. Were I moderator this would come to an end. You would remove or modify your rule, establishing a level playing field or you would take your toys and go home.
