Man I hate playing these games on a console. That might be why I don't own one, but that's another story. How do you guys aim with the controller? Oh yea auto-aim LOL

To many companys are just making games for 360/PS3/Wii and I hate it. This just opens the door just a little bit more to bring more players to PC gaming.

I hated the fact that all of the other FarCry games only came out on console and not the PC. We didn't even get an expansion pack for it on PC.....

FarCry was one of the best games ever released on the PC and it was one of if not the biggest game ever released that was a FPS.

I am completely in agreement with damulta... the games fps always gambled better, more fast, more exact in the PC.

To play fps in a console is a martyrdom...

I agree with everything in here. It is refresing feeling to know that Ubisoft is now developing a game with the PC platform in mind. Farcry 2's home is on the PC. Now only if Rainbow Six would follow suit.

After a semi long love hate relationship with UBI products I am hoping sooo badly that they will redeem themselves. I really do wish that this game is all that FC players can hope for and new players will love.

I'm actually surprised a bit with Ubisoft. I'm glad they have chosen to do a PC version, where the franchise started and I was a bit annoyed with the lack of exp packs for it on the PC. But if they've been working on FC2 for some time then I'll gain more respect for ubisoft. I hope I don't get disappointed.

I think anyone here who ever played the original FARCRY would be in total agreement here. I too was pretty upset when i first heard of farcry going to consoles as they did a few things different for the console versions i'd like to have seen in a PC expansion which never came.
I have never stoped playing the original FARCRY and to be honnest, i dont think i ever will, when this game was first released on the PC, it totally changed the way PC FPS's were made, visually and graphicly. To me it revolutionized the FPS genre in such a graphicly sense, just like BF1942 did in gameplay for FPS genre.
Even tho I myself thought crysis was basicly Farcry 2, just as a totally different story, this is just totally amazing and i absolutely cannot wait to play this already!!!
The guys at crytek deserve all the credit they are getting right now.

Yeah, in a day when companies seem to neglect the PC. Ubi is making FarCry2 on the PC... I mean UbiSoft, the ones that ported it over to consoles. All I can say is, thank you from the bottom of my heart guys! I love my 360, but if they do Far Cry 2 right, then it might not be possible to do a direct port. The 360 might have been the equivalent of a high-end PC when it first launched - but PC technology hasn't stood still either. We all know how Crysis got yanked from the 360 because the console wouldn't be able to handle it. If and when Crysis does get released on the 360, it's going to be a pared-down version.

For a 360 version of Far Cry 2, you're looking at a whole new game. It might be similar to the PC version, but something's going to have to give.

Yes quite suprising that Ubisoft is developing a game that seems to be PC only to start with. Will this be an attempt to restore the band with the PC gaming community?

Maybe they've seen how PC gaming is not an area to abandon lightly. The whole MMO genre as well as multiplayer success games as BF and CoD should still make the PC industry an interesting industry to release games for. That's why I hope they will put as many effort in multiplayer next to singleplayer, because as I have said before great singleplay will make a game popular for a while, great multiplay will make a game legendary.
