Please get rid of that......I don't know about most people but it just kills aiming in MP.

This was definitely an issue to me. Hopefully it is taken out, and the multiplayer controls become more responsive.

If the player still turns like the titanic then my multiplayer experience will be short lived.
It would be suicidal to keep that in the game.

I still, to this day, cant figure out the practicality of this feature in FC2... Absolutely meaningless.

The entire player control in FC2 was meaningless. Even with sensitivity maxed you still turned and moved slower than any other FPS out there. Not sure what they were going for with that idea. Realism maybe, but realism isn't always better. Some of us like the faster arcady feel to a multiplayer game like this.

This is definitely something i hope they address. the responsiveness/ sensitivity of the controls in FC2 were one of my biggest issues with the game, more so then respawning checkpoints! also the camera movement was even more impeded when you'd sprint. it got really stiff trying to turn & then once you came out of sprinting suddenly the camera'd jerk in the direction you were trying to turn!
IMO, Call of Duty (the IW ones anyway, treyarch's doesn't feel quite as tight) has some of the best controls as far as aiming & camera sensitivity, if they could at least get it closer to that, that'd be great.
i do like how they kinda have that cover system & you can kinda blind fire over cover & all that, it looks really cool, but yeah, the responsiveness has GOT to be improved fo sho!

Completely agree. Also the task of having to get directly under a ladder to press Y to climb it. I don't like CoD, but perhaps we could take a leaf out of their book and have ladders so you can just walk up to it and automatically climb it.

Bumping till I get an answer, this will decide weather I purchase or rent this game so its pretty important to me.

The game is still some time away - and that means information you may want - is not available..
I suggest you wait until the Com Dev is onboard and able to answer community questions, rather than bump threads which can not be answered yet.

"Turn accelerator"? What the hack is that? Is that a console issue?

I'm not a fan of COD but one thing they always do well is gameplay.

I thought it was fine the way they had it in FC2. And dude if it was too slow for you all you had to do was turn up the speed in options.

No, maybe you managed to cope with it for lack of comparison to a game with decent controls or something. But the rest of us could not.
It's not really that it was too slow though. Yes, even on the highest setting it moved too slow for my liking. But even on the lowest setting it moved to quick and jerky for me as well. Jumping, transitions from different actions, and design ideas like having to hit buttons for certain actions were just horribly jerky and imprecise. Couple this with the incredibly buggy player representation and animation that plagued the online mode and you have what could be one of the most clumsy games in ages. I can't think of a game that was more stiff and jerky and in unwieldy as FC2 was.
What's worse is that even as fondly as people look back upon FC:IP and earlier, even their controls were pretty bad. Sure those games played much faster and generally more fun, but unless I've got the assists on I can't hit a thing. Even looking straight at a guy, and can load ammo into him as though he were a supply truck and he'll just walk away. The movement is much more smooth and the aiming suffers less because it's more simple. But it's still really difficult to keep the reticule on your target.
Ubisoft will be breaking new ground if they can make a Far Cry game that doesn't make punching myself in the face a fair alternative to using the controls given with the game.

Agree. No other game made me want to rage quit like FC2.

I hope the turn acceleration is gone. I'd also love it if the aiming and gun-play mechanics were tightend up in general. (This may have already been addressed, it looked better in the FC3 vid)
I spent the majority of my time sniping and avoiding mid-to-close range fire-fights in FC2, partly because I like sniping, but mainly due to the combat feeling awkward and frustrating at closer range. The way you turned (looking left and right) along x-axis made re-acquiring flanking targets and aiming in general quite clumsy. I'm playing on console so this may not have been an issue on PC.
Changing the look speed in the options didn't make much difference as it didn't address the problem.
Don't get me wrong, I got a lot of enjoyment out of the game, the atmosphere and freedom to approach missions however you wanted was brilliant. But the clunky awkward aiming made combat a chore at times, and combat in an FPS should never feel like a chore.
