as seen in the ubidays trailer for endwar. where it has the same voice that was used on the rev 64 site it showed russian troops marching with bayonets on the end of their barrels, though that scene was doen with cg. just interesting to see if this will be an upgrade for infantry to allow them better CQB

But Cod, were you already in Iraq when there was that incident in which some El Salvadoran troops getting overrun and they charged and shocked the enemy with bayonets?

Or maybe you're a ninja.
Maybe if you give your vets a stealth advantage, it may be possible.
Don't think your gonna march up with your infantry of 10,000 men and the enemy doesn't notice and you just send a blade up theres.

true but the salvadoran military has that martail arts were they use a big knife like a machete as one of their main tools dont they? i forget the martial arts but it is brutal. and yes i can still attach my standard issued knife to it. but i carry a blackhawk nightedge combat blade. give me that over my bayonet anyday. ill draw that first before i get out my bayonet if im gonna do hand to hand.

your missing the point. you dont have it attached to your weapon all the time. it throws off the accuracy of your rifle along with bring the rifle back to the same spot you fired it from. so must bois out here have some type of combat knife they have for easy deployment. such as strapped to the chest or on the belt of their uniform.

i know a guy that opened a door and said a combatant was standing right their and he didnt have time to raise his rifle. so he pulled out his combat knife and went to town. if it wont for that the guy prob would have taken the soldier out

for the aussie militray their combat knife can be fitted to their barrel. whats the bayonet for the us military like? is it still like the longer length more classic design bayonets?

Why don't you have K-Bar Cod??? Last I heard you could punch through tank armor with one of those things....

Lol what how could a knife punch through tank armour? unless you have liek teh Master Chief with the knife or something. Also i mildly like the idea of bayonets it would be really sweet to see like a JSF squad pop out of teh ground and knife a bunch of russians or vice versa.

Read it in a book a soldier called David Bellavia were clearing a room and a insurgent charged at him and luckly he had a combat knife

Armies still use the bayonets, i know the british does, but its used as more of a boost to courage of men that as a weapon. When its going to get pretty messy and closequaters (like clearing out a compound) the shout goes up 'FIX BAYONETS'. It throws your aim slightly, but thats been reduced alot recently due to the bayonets becoming smaller and lighter while retaining there strength. They can also be used as a combat knife.

Also that would be awesome if the soldiers in game would use bayonets.

the one i have has a double edge to it. give it more cutting going in, and more ripping coming out. as to make sure the wound doesnt close. also the blackhawk line is one of the best knives due to their durability. also mine is built so it can slash, hack, or cut an enemy.

yes they have gotten smaller. but that still doesnt change the fact we dont use them on the weapons at all times. and when going into/ out of building on a regular basis, you dont have the time to put it on or take it off. that fraction that it takes away from your accuracy could mean the diffrent between weather you hit the guy on the roof with the rpg, or you missed and he fired it off at you.

and it kinda of a thing out here. "hey man look at my knife, its bigger then urs" lol
