Town Click Problem

This is an unexplainable problem that I seem to have while playing Heroes V... no matter how many times I click on the town or the town icon, I can't enter my town without trotting my hero up to the gates. I've also tried selecting the town icon and pressing 't'... but while the yellow border is around my hero, I can't seem to get it around my town map icon; even if I click ten thousand times. I cant even select my town in the first place, clicking on my town icon simply brings the camera view facing my town. From there, I can't do anything to actually get inside my town unless it is bringing my hero to the gates. This means that if I garrison my hero and I don't have any other heros I am forced to quit the game, because as soon as I exit the town there is no way to get back in. I'm nothing of a tech genius... so I really don't know what is causing this. I would dearly appreciate any tips or help you guys can give me.

Well this is beyond weird.
What I can recomend is make sure you don't have any strange mods in your data dir.
If you don't have any mods I recomend reinstalling the game and patching it to 1.2. I think you have some missing files.

It didn't work. I probably will need to get a new copy of the game...

a new copy of the game wouldn't help the install would either fail or pass.

are you using the Securom version by anychance?

I'm pretty sure i have a normal copy of the game.

Also, I forgot to mention that i can't get to the hero screen. Same problem. Clicking on the portrait, the adventure screen hero... doesn't work.

By the way, I have no idea what Securom is and the only plausible answer I could think of is that there is a problem with the disks. What other problem could there be?

Probably a silly question, but..

Are you doubling clicking on the town icon? (hero one too)

When you single click it moves camera to town, double clicking will open town up. It is a bit different than other Heroes games, took me a bit to get used to. If that's not it, I have no clue either.

I have clicked on the portrait and adventure screen item so many times it made my finger hurt. Just doesnt work. Ive tried selecting the townd portrait, but i cant even select it, so pressing 't' wont help.
I have a bit of adware on my pc, and im working on that, but i dont see anything else that could be a problem... I don't have any mods or anything that I know of.
Also I installed it on a different file than program files, but i dont think that's a problem either.
