i just wanted to know if you liked this idea. it is extremely unlikely it will be in sc3 but what about sc4{if there is one}. how about a real time system.you have to complete the mission before the night ends but if you dont, you have to find a place to stay til the next night. As you progress through the night janaters come round to all the rooms, check them and lock them up.also every night, the guards routes change.major replay value.so what do you think.

that wont work gameplay wise.
it would just get harder, during the day.. since there aint no shadows to hide and anyway,
nights last long enough.

It's thought provoking, but unless the mission's in northern extremeties of the north hemisphere, there will be enough night time to complete a mission, as pretend3r said.

I guess that there would be a time limit, where the information will only be there for a short time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
If I'm correct in a level of SCCT you have to record a telephone call but if you don't get the information will be in a draw where you can collect it, but it will only be there for a short time, if you fail both these then you get mission failed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
This means that in SCCT the game events will continue where ever you are, in SC and PT, you couldn't miss the objective since it would activate a response when you move to a certain point in the level. I know in SC and PT you had to record cnversations which you were able to miss, tho the conversation only started if you reached a certain point. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

u have 12 hours to complete the mission...and if u fail...u have to seat and wait in the heat of the sun with no shadows for another 12??? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif...so if i failed a mission,i'll have to wait for 12 hours also doing nothing!!!...sheesh!i'll reload the last saved game to undo the mistakes.sheesh!

Nah because it would cause you to have to rush through everything.
Lambert: Sam I need you to go and wire-tap Agent Rhoulette's phone call to Matheiu.
Sam: Ok.
Lambert:But Sam you have to do this between the 4pm and 4:02pm 2 months, 3 weeks 5 days 12 hours and two minutes from now.
Sam:....................
Lambert:and Sam if you are early you fail the mission, if you are late you fail the mission and finally if you are on time......... you fail the mission...... Sam this game isn't about stealth or guns or you.... it's about failure Sam, everything you do will result in failure.
Sam: *cries*
Lambert: thaaaaaaat's right Sam, push the power button....... that's a good Splinter Cell.....
Sam: *slowly edges finger towards the power button of the Xbox*
Lambert: Now Sam, I have another mission in case you are interested, it does involve stealth and cunning.... are you up to it?
Sam:*wipes tears away and talks in a soft baby voice* yeah.
Lambert: Ok Sam I need you to infultrate the cleaners and pick up my grey suit and then after that I need you to capture my coffee mug and bring it in for questioning.
Sam:*shoots the Xbox*
Yep........... that sounds about right. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

The rush is putting a time limit on a game that is meant to be massivly explored, that is like putting a time limit on Final Fantasy. This game is supposed to have so much and so many possiblities that with a time limit you will not be able to lollygag around trying different things without worrying about the time... or maybe im just against any ideas that aren't Ubisoft's. *shrugs and walks away*

Plus, chances are Echelon's not gonna drop Sam into an insertion point just before the crack of dawn http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif Remember the first mission T'blisi, first thing out of Lambert's mouth was "Fisher, the sun's down. Time to go to work." They alotted Sam as much time in darkness possible to take care of the mission at hand.

Most gamers don't have 12+ hours to play one level.
