But, in my opinion, I'd have to go with a PS2. (with NA)

It really depends on your gaming preferences...
If you like party games, go with a Gamecube.
If you like RPGs and the ability to play online, go with a PS2.
That said, <3 GC.

Gamecube. Zelda, Mario, Metroid, RE, and a little thing I like to call Eternal Darkness (Favorite Game Ever)!

Xbox. If that isn't an option, I would take the Gamecube. PS2 is lame, IMO.

I'm thinking of getting a brand spanking new console before Christmas.
At the moment I'm thinking ps2 over xbox since there's no subscription fee to play online with ps2.

I am assuming you already have an xbox, if you don't, then that is the answer. Otherwise, get a GC. The games on the GC are so fantastic, and most PS2 titles that matter (outside of the RPGs) are available on the XBox.

Xbox, for the sole purpose of Halo 2, and save your money for XBox 2 out Q4 2005 with Halo 3, which is rumored to already be well under way, as frantic as Microsoft is right now trying to get the dev kits done asap.

At my place we have all 3 systems, Gamecube and Xbox I own, my brother owns a PS2. I'd avoid a Gamecube like the plague, man. Unless you really want Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Party (notice a trend?) and the Rogue Leader games - which are almost worth it by themselves if you're a Star Wars fan - there's not an awful lot out there. Super Smash Bros. is a lot of fun with good people around but your options are going to be pretty limited.
PS2 has the most titles available (and they're also the easiest to find in stores) so you're bound to run into something you like, free online capability, and you don't have to buy the adapter if you get the new slim PS2, so you're bound to find something worth playing. Besides, it's got Ace Combat 4 and 5. I could list more reasons but I don't know what you're preferences are.

This thread lends itself to my Nintendo boy band reference of a previous thread.

I have to agree with what Jinx said.
My cube is mainly used for Party games. PS2 for some online and RPG's and PLatformers. And the Box is used for stuff like Men of valor, Halo 2, Ghost Recon etc...

I just say w00t w00t for the Frag Dolls. And my PS2. I want an Xbox though, albeit only for the games I can't get on PS2. I just can't justify buying a GC. Just doesn't seem to be enough hardcore games on it.
Ubi should make a Frag Dolls game for all 3 consoles. I'd buy it and then have them autograph it if they ever visit Atlanta.

The whole point of autographs and fan worship is that you have to get off /your/ *** to go see /them/, not the other way around. :P Visit PAX, I'm fairly sure that they'll accept Mr. Khoo's friendly invitation.
That said, I've usually held that all three systems have their merits, and you really have to decide what you want to play. Now, I've taken a position of "Xbox. Oh, but if you already have one, it depends on what you like to decide between PS2 and GCN."
Metroid Prime 2 is pretty lustful on its own, but unless you have friends to play Double Dash with, I don't think you'll really be /that/ happy with a GameCube.

Kinda hard to go see them when they are always on the go, and money is tight. So if they ever come here...yeah
