How do I build bridges?

Ive searched the forum and only got one topic that regarded the subject, it did not give me a valid answer...

Me and my friends are desperate, 2 games have been ruined because we cant build bridges!
We build 1 architect house in town, 1 where we want the bridge built
what more do we have to do!?
Do the architect build the plans REAAAALLY slow or something!?
Please explain the WHOLE process of bridge building so I get every point...
Tell me where to build the architects house, tell me what should happen and tell me what I have to click and what my serfs have to do.
Because we've researched everything, dragged the red cross bridge over everything and still havent got any results... nor have our bridge architects built any plants.
And yes this were on maps that are made for bridge building: Iland maps.

Ok so the architects house should be near the shore/border? Doesnt matter where you put it? (like if youd build it in the middle of what would be considerd the road)

doesn't matter where you put it, just close to the "bridge"....when the frame work is all done, get your serfs and build it

You do know that you can only build bridges on bridge sites, they look like a series of boulders crossing the river.

We tried on the map Battle Islands in the legend expansion, I put 3 architects houses but none seemed to build a framework... can you give me an example map in which the boulders are in place? Or tell me whats wrong with the map Battle islands...

Someone couldve told me that bridge sites look like theyre already finished

I mean gheez, its like theyve built half the bridge already

what baffels me is that battle islands dont have bridges...

I guess you didn't do any of the single-player missions? I think it is the first mission explains about architects and bridges. It is worthwhile doing the single-player missions, consider it training http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Also, don't forget about the weather machine, you can also cross water when it is frozen!

Can you build bridges in any version of HOK? I'm playing the regular version ( no expansion pack ), but have never seen anything about an architect's house or bridge. And I've played many single missions. Just wondering if I'm missing something ...

The building of bridges was introduced in the first expansion pack - cleverly named "Expansion Disc" it offers a lot more gameplay with the introduction of sharpshooters aswell http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
