How hard will it be to mod Heroes 5?
I have to ask since I like to MOd games and add more content to them. And its allso good since it can increase the lifetime of a game.

A little soon to ask this maybe? Could be Heroes V turns out perfect so there is nothing to mod http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
The mod question of this moment to UBI is...
how about giving the Heroes III source code to the wizards of the WoG Team? Then we finally can have a new town and everything extra ever wanted from that game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It's possible that Ubi didn't actually buy the code and such things, only the name and design of Heroes of Might and Magic.

If there could be modability like in Heroes 3, then the game will get another dimension of playability.
Hint: remember In The Wake Of Gods http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

possible, unlikely imo but possible.
So, dear UBI? Do you have the code? And if so, will there ever be a chance for WoG to get their moddy hands on it? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Even if Ubi had the Heroes III sources, I doubt they'd give them out...
They'd have no interest in doing so... And they also *might* want to re-release Heroes III on computer or other platforms (handhelds ?), so giving out the sources of the game would be a stupid decision.

When Ubi recently had bought the rights to MM, there was some brief discussion between Slava and Farbice about the possibility for having the source code- at least for the map editor. However, nothing came out of it, and we're not sure why.

I really hope the game does turn out to be easily modable...

Well, the Captain seems to know why, it would be a stupid decision http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I hope some day it will happen anyway.
In wog we trust.

This is like jumping through a tinted glass without knowing what's a head. It's suicidal and it's always better to wait until the opportunity arrises to talk about these things.

Love the idea, and i'm counting on it. On the other hand, i don't think that it would be possible untill a couple expansions would be released also.

Modability depends soley on the file structure and hard-coded stuff...
I modded a..well..erm...Lost count...lot's of games anyway!
I'ts allways a good thing to have around. Putting in your own heroes/towns/creatures/items...now isn't that a great thing or not?

If heroes 5 is modable then we can all be heroes,
imagine a low poly version of yourself leading the fight against your friends in a lan deathmatch.
Now that would be heaven http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Now seriously, modern games become more and more modable and I think Homm5 shouldn`t stay out.
As for Wog, giving the source code to the developers doesn`t mean that whoever has it has to give up their copyrights.

Yes, but I still think it is unlikely that the source code would be given to either the Equilibris or WoG team.
