Splinter Cell back in the day was something truly amazing. We as a forum were a tight knit group..Vth, AJ667, Terrax to name a few..we were all part of something truly amazing...a game that we pretty much lived... Coupled by the fact that we had cameo appearances by Martin Caya (for those of you reading this and dont know who that is...your are proving my point)we were in essence the lifeblood of splinter cell.
Then came Pandora tomorrow...and although I believe it was a great game in its own right (minus the horrible voice overs and spelling mistakes in the OPSAT info allowed by Shanghai)
the forum exploded...new and very young members joined and as the demographic grew the rules began to change in order to appease them.
Where as in Pandora Tommorrow the multiplayer still followed the story line by disabling the pox viruses....the next couple of splinter cells would turn it into a game where the lack of storyline and immaturity on the part of some players began to take our beloved splinter cell and turn it into something that was now being based soley on money and not the fact the we could get lost in the amazing story telling and the game itself.
I loved Chaos Theory and I believe it was a step in a positive direction. The addition of the COOP spies started to reminded me of the SC beginnings. Could it be that the essence of Splinter Cell was coming back? Imagine following a new Splinter Cell through his/her training from the beginning...what an amazing idea for a spin-off..but that never panned out.
DA I believe although an enjoyable game is no longer "Splinter Cell". Splinter Cell is just a title used to sell games now. We knew back in the day what a Splinter cell was...and it is no longer. Coupled by the fact that Convictions looks like it will take Sam further away from his roots...well I believe we are looking at the beginning of the end here folks...which I guess everything good has to come to an end sometime.
The purpose of this rant you ask? I am hoping that UBI will realize just what they have here. The possibilities are endless...I would love to play a spin off being an official/unoficial splinter cell going through training right from the start. Training missions(like the first one of the original SC)...first missions...the successes..the failures...it would be great.
I would also love to see a box set of DVD's of short splinter cell movies following the new spies like the ANIMATRIX movies from the Matrix....but I wont hold my breath.
Regardless, I hope someone reads this that can make a difference because it would be a damn shame to see something so amazing be watered down to the point where it is an unrecongnizable form of what it once was..
your thoughts?

I think this guy is right.
So. What do you want from Ubisoft ? The old Splinter Cell ? Or the fugitive Sam Fisher ?
I mean, it's time do to do a little revolution on this forums. And I don't believe UBI doesn't visit this sites. That would be stupid from them. They must realise that the only people that who love, who play and really understand about SC are here. In this forum. In this god d"*X site they've created. And you know, they only care about selling the most number of SC's as possible. I hate when they say: "It's time to change things." No, they don't mean that. They mean " It is time to get more money, because, I want it, so, f"*c the rest" So, I deeply hope this will get to UBI hq, and fast. Or they will just kill SC.
So, I've read an interesting idea from ShadownetPT: " I would love to play a spin off being an official/unoficial splinter cell going through training right from the start. Training missions(like the first one of the original SC)...first missions...the successes..the failures...it would be great. "
Yes, it would be great. That is a fantastic idea. If you don't like it, we can always get back to the old SC.
