When I first got Uru, I was amazed at how amazing it was; it's a 3D walkthrough of the beautiful locals found in the past Myst games.

Then I started to notice the controls. Not that it's bad, but it's rather "uncomfortable".

Are there any mods which can modify the game to handle more like "Splinter Cell"? (not for the acrobatics or jumping, just for general movement and looking.)

I don't know about Splinter Cell as I've never played it, but you do get two options for movement. Mouse and keyboard.

What exactly would you like to do? Other than walking, running, jumping, turning, looking around and sidestepping?

If your computer can handle Uru, then it can handle splinter cell; there's a demo out there somewhere.

However, the movement I'm talking about is more or less like any average first person shooter-- I like to circle straife(sp?)- especially while moving around and looking at things, so I found it annoying in Uru (especially in the first part when you're looking for the tapestries) that you cannot turn your head in a different direction than where you're walking.

You can sort of do that with the arrow keys - in first person with capslock on, I'm always running along and swiveling my view from left to right. Mind you ... in third person I look like a drunken cat weaving back and forth as it runs across a lawn ... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

BTW - Thor- Clod of Blunders ... LUV your name, nice play on words. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
