It was a bit boring in Far Cry 2 just being sunny all the time, it only rained if you died a lot.

However in Far Cry 3, being a tropical island. Hopefully we'll see some thunderstorms, torrential rain and maybe periods when it dosen't rain and plants become really dry.

Similar to the feature on Far Cry 2 when enemies found it harder to spot you at night time, when it's raining enemies could hide inside so it would give you the advantage when attacking.

What would be really cool is if in the mornings in some places there was tropical mist, making stealth much more awesome and easier.

Thoughts?

It rained quite a bit in Far Cry 2 in the jungle areas - not so much in the desert section. It was really a dynamic system that I hope they keep for FC 3. When you notice (in FC2) the time-lapse from the safe house, the cloudy-rain-sun transitions happen more frequently than it seems. In dry Africa, even in the jungle parts, the rain is furiously short and, yes, scarcer than you would find in tropical rain forests. This island(s) on FC3 may prove interesting if they keep dynamic weather - with good sound effects I hope. The thunderstorms in RDR are fantastic immersion.

I'm not sure about "it only rains if you die alot". As Martythemerc said, it does rain in the jungle and savannah areas.

The dynamic weather was one of the strongest points of FC2; now FC3 should have thunderstorm, lightning ... to make it even more immersive.

I think enemies taking shelter from the rain would be amazing, plus the down pours and lightning! I hope the map editor alows you to change wind speed, rain intensity, and lightning frequency. Can't forget ocean waves and other water effects too
