i would suggest there was made an auto download prog. for farcry mp.. there is alot of good maps out there which people have made, but knowing what maps a server is running is impossible, so like ravenshield, if there is a map that u dont posess, it will autodownload from a site, this goes for call of duty also if i remember correctly.. i think a feature like this would lift farcry to new heights..

Yes, this would be pretty awesome. Very handy for Call of duty where almost every other few servers had mods on them, I could just download em and jump in!

ONe thing though, downloading those straight from ingame took a LONG time for the maps...so i could just imagine trying to do this with farcry and its detail, complexity, huge maps, ect. and u would have to wait 3 hours, which i could just go on a site and download 20 maps off of myself in that time.

yeah, thats the main problem, downloading time of pretty huge maps.. its kind of difficult to get people to go places and download maps, mostly people that are in clans are updated on this, so to keep people which not are as devoted to the game, is to find a way for them to download the maps without having to get them through alot of trouble.. one thing could be to return the user to the server list giving him or her a message containing information where to download these maps..

Yes, that would be good. Giving them a direct link to a working download file. They could just click on that and isntall it, and get right back in game!

if we could make a map pack with some of the best maps.. and put a text in the server saying where to download it.. if we just put alittle effort in this, people should get the map pack after playing on the regular maps.. just a little warning message that they may be booted because the server plays custom maps, and then a message where to get the map pack.. what maps should be used?

I don't think the auto downloader would work to great on FarCry, maps are two big and a lot of servers don't have the extra bandwitdh.

I think they should include the best user made 15 or so maps, in the next patch, that will give us a lot to play with..

Host could point to the url and name of the map for the players, and the person could go to the url and download the map/s

There are a couple of recent map packs around. Check www.farcry-maps.com (http://www.farcry-maps.com) (in my sig) for the place to get the map packs.

A number of servers running one or more custom maps generally include a broadcast message saying what custom maps are running on the server, and where to get the maps This is not a perfect solution though, since who wants to break out of a game to download a map? Sometimes the server messages flash by too quickly to notice as well.
