For those of us on the XBOX, the fall update is a total blessing for Rocksmith players. The really great addition is the Cloud Storage. Now you can store your Rocksmtih game save to the cloud and then go to a friend's house, download your profile to their XBOX and have your total game save there to play on.

FANTASTIC!!!

I couldn't agree more. I was over at a friend's house and it sucked because I had to play way below my level. This is definitely a big perk.

Is this one of those "Xbox live gold" only features?

The save to 'cloud' feature, I believe is gold only.
Which is understandable, as you are using storage space on their servers now.

yes, Rocksmith was the very first game save I put in the cloud. Now I can go between my 2 360's and not worry about progressing in the campaign.

I understand they want to charge for it, but the cost of storage space for somebody's game save is negligible.

It's not just a save file though, everyone gets half a GB of memory space in the cloud. Multiply that by the number of gold users on Live, and that's expensive.

I read that a user's DLC/digital purchases are not stored in the cloud, so what is it that would take so much space?

Some game saves are pretty huge and can add up.

Yeah, somehow half of my 512 MB is used already. I think it might be my versioned Skyrim saves.

Or you can just get a cheap USB stick put your profile and your saves on there and not even bother having to download your profile when you visit friends. You got your profile/saves all ready to go whereever you are.

I'd rather not have to remember to carry around a memory stick...it's enough of a pain the butt just going between two xboxes in the same house, let alone somewhere else.
Besides, if $12 a month will break you...you probably shouldn't be worried about video games in the first place.

To each their own. I wasn't suggesting it as a money saving feature. I use usb sticks precisely because I have multiple xboxs in my home. It took about one time going through the pain of downloading my profile that I ran out and got memory cards that were eventually replaced with USB sticks when the 360 starting supporting those.

$12/month???? let me sell you some real estate.

you shouldn't be spending more than $35-50 A YEAR. there's $1/month deals. $7.99/3 months deals. lots of deals. you shouldn't be spending $12/month! even full MSRP is $5/month. *gasp*

I think someone just messed up their math... at max, even in Canada XBL Gold is $60 per year which is $5 a month.

I guess it's just been that long since I've even looked at the autorenew bill...
Don't know why...I just always thought it was $12/mnth
