Actually, I couldn't tell you if UBI has more or less players than HyperLobby because it has been a very long time since I have bothered with UBI. It is Sunday, 11:40 A.M. U.S. right coast time and there are about 550 people at HyperLobby.

I can tell you that HyperLobby is easier to configure and seems to suffer from problems less than UBI. You also only need to enable port 21000 through your hardware firewall instead of the many needed to even play, much less host at UBI.
