What I like about this special so far is that it is balanced and isn't just about the actual history of video games from the 1970s, to now.

It covers the arcade games... As in the coin operated games like Space Invaders and Pac Man... The home console systems like the Atari 2600, the NES, the influence the early PC games had in the 1990s like Myst and Doom to what is going on now with the three way battle between MS, Sony and Nintendo. It also acknowledges the simulation genre and how video games are now taken seriously as training tools in various fields.

I also like how they are fair in their reporting of the ups and downs the games industry as a whole experiences with it being the target of politicians as a scapegoat for violence among young people.

It is also a trip down memory lane for someone my age because I can literally remember being a kid who played the Atari 2600, as well as spending entire afternoons during summer breaks feeding coin after coin into games like "Dragon's Lair" and others...

I hope it will be on Youtube or someone will upload it to a torrent site. I'm not in the US, so I can't watch it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

and speaking of arcade games that's one area of my gaming i've been neglecting lol

when i was growing up i used to love going to arcades the sights, the sounds, hell even the smell.

it was like being a kid in a candy store and your parents would always start you off $5 which you would promptly blow though in an about a half an hour lol.

then you would be back begging for more quarters and money to get a slice of pizza and a coke or something ^^

and then of course theres the bads times like getting wedged inbetween two levels of a chucky cheese funhouse due to being a little porker growing up lol

all in all good times and i definitly feel like hitting up an arcade now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
good documentary definitly brought back some memories.
