I just wanted to say how disappointed I am at how this game is not optimized for pc at all. It seems to me this game is cpu bound on an E8400@3.6ghz. The in-game settings do not seem to help either. I almost feel ripped off because of how poorly the game runs. If there is any loading the game studders dramatically and its very noticeable to the point that this game is ruined for me. I would play this with the lowest settings possible if it would help, but it does not. So unfortunately I feel like I have wasted my money on this.. and I'm starting to feel like I should have purchased Just Cause 2.

Just in case anyone was wondering what my system specs are:
E8400 @ 3.6ghz
ASUS P5K Premium
4GB DDR2 1060mhz
HD 4890 1GB

That sounds like hard drive fragmentation, actually. I had the same thing until I defragmented my hard drive. Try doing that and see if it runs better.

P.S., I did buy Just Cause 2. Worth it, defiantly.

That is what I thought too.. but it didn't help. Tried using the windows defrager and defraggler.
Still stuttery. The weird thing is I can't stop it from using 90% of my cpu. If I have settings on high it will bog my cpu. If its on low it just spikes when the game needs to load textures or the upcoming map. Sucks a lot.. I was really looking forward to this game. Glad to hear Just Cause 2 is good... I'll have to pick it up soon.

I honestly have no clue whats wrong with your computer, I've played this game fine on low settings on a crappy radeon 4650, no issues or slow downs what so ever

I'd suggest download, search in google: ccleaner
Just to fix/clean up "Registry" on your system a bit.. maybe it will help you out(if it asks for backup ignore it, its not needed).. run it like 3 times until there aren't any more issues... reboot computer afterwards.. then try running the game again in the lowest settings.... I don't have any other suggestions... maybe uninstall & install again... lol

ALSO.... are you sure you have the LATEST ***ATI CATALYST*** drivers? They are constantly updating them.. so I'd suggest heading to ati.com and download the latest update to be certain(even if you already have the latest, please Reinstall it from the new download of the drivers.. just for insurance to be updated).

Anyways about "Just Cause 2", that game is insanely awesome well worth it... yeah playable fine on medium settings with 4650.. so with your card 4890 it will definitely play nice on Max(or close to it).

That spec should run it gloriously one would think. I'm running it on a crap P4/X1950Pro rig, and sure I get lag, but nothing abnormal like loading stutters. Do you have all background progs shut down and adequate swap file space? Also, even though you've dr***ged, are you staying within the 15% free space rule Windows suggests?

I would also try minimizing the game with Task Manager and check to see if anything other than it is taking up CPU/RAM resources. Could be you have a bug you aren't aware of.

And besides the obvious GPU/Sound driver updates, make sure your MB chipset drivers and DX version are up to date.
