To be honest, it was 'just another day' in most respects. I'm not having a party this year, not after $450 worth of skiing equipment. However, I got a strange birthday card from my sister's boyfriend and a $10 gift certificate to EB Games. That was surprising. Other than that... I LOVE skiing. I've been skiing alpine since I was 5. (I think. Memory's a bit of a blur, to say the least) I don't fall much, but when I do, I make up for all of the times I didn't... For example, the last ski trip I had was to a resort called Sunday River in Stowe, Vermont. I fell once out of 5 days. How?
Well, it was getting dark. The lights hadn't come on yet. I'm going far too fast on skis that are too small on a 'run' (What I call skiing trails) that's been cut up by hundreds of skis and snowboards throughout the day. Somehow, a hole was formed somewhere... I caught an edge, which is VERY bad. That's where you try to turn, and the leading edge of the ski is slanted downward, and... Yeah. Leads to bad things. In my case, doing a full front-flip, breaking a pole, losing a glove and getting the wind knocked out of me for a good 10 minutes. Good thing nobody else was there, my dad wouldn't have reacted well to the story of me sitting in the middle of the mountain wheezing for 10 minutes. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
