These Hard and Strict Reviews should not change our Minds regarding POP two Thrones,I can bet that Two Thrones is going to be an excellent hit.I am not understanding that on what basis Edge give Two Thrones 7 out of 10,The Game has all the features that capture Players Hearts.Whatelse they want?Shame on Edge all I can say.Too much negativity.I am expecting above 9 scores from Gamespot and IGN and other good Reviewers.

7 is VERY GOOD !!!! Trust me on this one. I am from UK and a 7 from EDGE IS EXCELLENT. I mean look at Kameo, they gave it a 7 as well and Call of Duty 2. Besides Shadow of the collussus got 8 from Edge while IGN gave it 9 so it's all good news !!

I can understand that but Reviewers usually score sequels lower than the first game in a franchise and that's absolutely normal. According to the edge forum, they're saying Kameo got a really good score and it got same as PoP. Maybe since they're such tough critics that getting a 7 wid dem is such a high honor.

Also, I looked through the forum and The Edge uses a basis like this.

5 and up equals a good game
4 and below is a bad game.

So technically, PoP is a great game.

A friend told me that the guys from LEVEL are just a bunch of fake *******s. Their magazine sucks and it is the worst that I have read. They write untrue stuff about games and then they rate them bad. Sorry, but personally I don't care how they rate T2T or what they write about it. 7 is a very good score. Especially (as i understand it) as the reviewers are still seeing a product that's 70% finished.

The only gaming magazine I trust ius GameInformer. They tell the truth, and they have reasons to back it up. Here's what they gave the PoP series:

SoT: 9.5/10
WW: 9.25/10
T2T: N/A

They give good games good scores, crappy games crappy scores.

On the Gamefaqs boards, someone posted that a Swedish magazine gave the game a 9. Personally I would wait to see the reviews from the bigger gaming magazines instead of a few lessar known ones. Ones like the Official PS2 and GameInformer are pretty good.

Edge gave SoT an 8 and WW a 7. The only reason for the lowering has to do with what they interpret as a lack of "revolution" in gameplay. In other words, the gameplay would need to change radically. And since the platforming and puzzling and combat are a HUGE part of why people buy and play PoP - why would the team want to re-invent it? The score is a reflection of Edge feeling that game isn't "different" enough. Not that it's a bad game. I wouldn't worry. Neither WW nor T2T can reproduce the "wow" factor of SoT because it CAME FIRST. And that wow factor pushed up the scores. That doesn't automatically qualify it as better.

If people are merely looking for another reason to "prove" how nothing will ever be as good as SoT - have at it. But as someone from Ubi mentioned on the IGN boards - two big American mags (and two big European ones) have all scored T2T 9+.

People have what we call personal opinions; frankly I don't see anything strange about someone not actually liking Prince of Persias the way we do, and hence ain't bothered or concerned about this particular score. A 7/10 rating is not going to change the game, unless you let it directly influence the way you see it when playing it. And as someone mentioned, some reviewers tend to take a very critical stance when giving scores to releases; a good example from the music industry is Pitchfork Magazine, which seems to take pride in stomping every potentially good album relase to the grounds, and hence anything above a 6.0 from them is considered a winning lottery number. I'm not going to give any attention to any of the reviews when formulating my own views on the game; the only real use of a collective number of reviews IMO is to give a crude picture of how the general public feels about a movie/game/book etc.

You guys don't really understand what Edge is all about, it's not for everyone and it's certainly not the same as other magazines. 7/10 in Edge is a very, very good score. It's incredibly rare to get a 9/10 in Edge (pretty much impossible to get 10), and an 8 is reserved for very special games - like King Kong.

To understand Edge's scoring system, think like this:

Generic Mag 10 - 8 Edge
Generic Mag 9 - 7 Edge
Generic Mag 8 - 6 Edge
Generic Mag 7 - 5 Edge
Generic Mag 6 - 4 Edge
Generic Mag 5 - 3 Edge
Generic Mag 4 - 2 Edge

i.e. when Edge reviews an average game, it gives it an average mark, not 7/10 like a lot of reviewers do. So, a 7/10 in Edge is like 9 or 10/10 in an average magazine.

Personally, I'm happy with the Edge review and score.
