Hi
I have problems with something from the manual.
CHAPTER 4.102
"Significant missile targeting information dominates the VSD in the STT mode........The Missile Range Cues RMIN(minimum launch range of the selected missile), the RTR (maximum range against a maneuvering target), and RPI (maximum range against a non-maneuvering target) indicators ar shown along the VSD's rigt edge" Additionaly a triangle marks the RAERO, orabsolute maximum areodynamic range of the selected missile. The missile shoot Cue , along the bottom edge, indicates when the target is within acceptable launch parametres..........
PLEASE !!!! Where the hell ist that CUE, that RMIN, that RPI and the RPR ????? I see nothing ?! PLEASE help ! When is the best time to shoot the missile via the SST ! I have no idea. F-15 Riders please post a Hardcopy of the RPI, RMIN and RPR.
thanks a lot
sorry my englsih sucks

You're not silly, just new at this, we've all been there m8 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. The Range cues you ask about will only be displayed when you have a target locked, and a missile selected, then look for the bars that appear on the right hand edge of the VSD. The VSD is the display ont he left hand side of the cockpit.
Hang on i'll go get you a screenshot.

Ok, notice in this shot, i have locked up a MIG-29A on radar, and have selected an AIM-120 AMRAAM missile. You will see that once i have the target locked and a missile selected, the information you were asking about above is now shown on the VSD.
Screenshot 1 (http://www.angelfire.com/oz/blackjacks/Tempscreen1.jpg)
Now if we look at the second screenshot, i'll explain a few of the importants, anyone else feel free to add to my discriptions http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
Screenshot 2 (http://www.angelfire.com/oz/blackjacks/Tempscreen2.jpg)
In the center on the display you see the currently tracked target, we know what kind of aircraft it is by looking at the bottom of the display slightly to the left where it says MIG29. Now on the right hand side of the display we now see the missile and target range info. The right facing arrow where it says 824 insicates the targets speed and range off our nose. The triangle above the target range marker indicates the maximum effective range of our missile against a maneuvering target, if we were to zoom out the VSD (currently set at 20nm) we would also see the absolute max range of the missile. Once the target comes into the squared area of the range indicator, the target is whithin optimum range.
Hope it helps, im tired so im sure i missed a bunch, hopefully someone else will come along and explain more.

what's up with the box at the upper right side ?

5nm and less seems a bit small for the optimum range against a high speed head on target doesn't it?

Yes, the AIM-120 still need a LOT of patching. BVR is still useless in the F-15C...

I thought it was repaired in the patch ?!

Yep, i knew i was too tired for discriptions, the target range marker ont he right where it says 834, is your closing speed, not the targets speed.
The radar was fixed int he patch, but not the missile.

Looks like the bandit is at about 15nm to me (2/3 of the way up the VD with range set at 20nm).

----The right facing arrow where it says 824 insicates the targets speed and range off our nose.----
The number "824" indicates a closure rate of 824 kts, not how fast the target is moving.
The target's speed, aspect (AOT- Angle Off Tail), and Heading can be found in the upper left of the display.
Values left to right as described above respectively.
To view the actual range of the aircraft, look opposite corner (lower right) to the far right we see the range. Just to the left of this is the TTI (Time To Intercept) readout.
Hope I helped http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Already corrected that one earlier http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif, look at my last post. The rest is helpful though, maybe ill start on a BVR training mission, like i had to back int he flanker days http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif.
Cheers.
(Bow down to the Cloudy Eagle sig, i don't know why its pink, but for whatever reason i liked it plain http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif)
