I'm really curious what this new technology is all about? I've never heard of AGEIA until a couple of days ago, is this going to change the face of gaming?

So is this a standard piece of hardware on the XB360?

Anyone have an idea now this really works? Right now it sounds like a piece of hardware specifically geared for games but is there practical applications for this, perhaps in Engineering... Anyone?

I hope they fix the crashing issues that GRAW2 had with PhysX had with Nvidia single GPU cards

It runs in software on the Xbox. It started out as a Physics Processor Unit in gaming PCs, but nVidia bought them out and now PCs with nVidia GPUs with more than 256MB of VRAM can process physics in hardware on the GPU. PhysX can run in software or hardware, and as far as I know, the only HW support out there for it is nVidia GPUs from the GeForce 8X00 series with 256+MB of VRAM.

The Xbox is FAR too limited in RAM and processing power to run that in hardware.
