I, for one, am really happy with CloD so far. It runs like a gem on my machine, I get good FPS - with occasional stutter which I can eliminate with a couple of setting switches.

The new engine modelling is excellent and some of the single player flying I've done has been really great fun.

The main downside would be the pretty average sounds. But aside from that I find the game to be thoroughly engaging, and I've not even tried online yet.

I played it last week for the first time in months and I can say it's a MUCH better game than it was after release/first few patches. The only big downside I noticed was that antialiasing still sucks (but less than it did), I really don't get why they don't fix this already.

Sounds are better, it runs better on my machine, and the colors are not courtesy of LSD anymore. There's probably still things to be done that I didn't notice because I only played for about half an hour (it's on my other computer in another town so can't play more atm), but it's a game I can actually very much enjoy playing right now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just give us smooth edges already, and make the Beau flyable, and I'll be content for the next year http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I am impressed with CLoD.

All in all, its a good package but needs more work to finalize the product.

It works well on my machine, good fps with near max settings (except for trees and buildings, they are on medium).

Love the game and can't wait for the next patch to be released.

Could people that have Cliffs of Dover running well on their computers please list the comp specs, so those of us who haven't yet upgraded have an idea.

Here's what I have recently upgraded to: -

Asus M4N98TD-EVO m/b (Nvidia chip for Sli)
AMD 965 cpu 4 x 3.4g
8gig ram
1Tb HDD (partitioned x 5)
700w Cooler Master P/S (Sli ready) single rail 52A
2 x GTS450 Nvidia Graphics cards

My old system was a Core2 Duo @2.4g and a 9600gt card with 6gig ram. Although I had "Dover" running on that it was with most settings turned down to Low--med and the best fps I could get were 20--28, now I am running "High" on all but two (building amount and forests which are "med") and getting fps over land "Cockpit on" 45--60fps.

I built a system in February on a P6X58D-E m/b with:
i7-950 @ 3.07GHz (stock clock)
1GB GTX 460
6GB DDR3 1333 Kingston RAM
Win 7 Pro x64

FPS runs mid to high 20's low over London with most settings on high. Full system including case, PSU, 1080p monitor and a keyboard for less than AU$2K (bearing in mind Australian prices can be as much as 40% higher than US prices on a direct currency conversion comparison).

I would also recommend having a seperate SSD with only a copy of Windows 7 64, Cliffs of Dover, and peripherials installed on it. When you boot up your system will ask which operating system you want to startup on. Your sim and mission load times will be dramaticly reduced.
