Here is a teaser for the up and coming 69.GIAP movie called "Paint it Black"

Now this is full frontal GIAP production so no minors should look at this file.

Must be Welsh.

They always miss the point.

Now the technicaly minded film makers out there may wonder how that was done...

First there were IL2 Films with planes in...
Then there were talking characters...
Coming next IS talking animated characters...

In fact after another couple of hours our character can sing too - but is looking a bit peaky - maby needs a healthier diet...

I like the dude singing.

Where did you find the program to do this type of thing?

I can see 2 hour movies in the future. Complete with a character or two or three doing the acting.

Google crazytalk,

Basicly you take any 2D photo plug it in - give it a wav file with the script and the damn thing starts acting.

You can then tune the attach points and add emotions etc.

First thing I did was to get the cat to sing opera..

The tuning takes a half hour then you need to blue out the background ready for superimposition over the IL2 clips.

Main limitation is that you can't make it walk, wave arms around and pick its nose etc.

I did also experiment with full body animation software - but the limitations of the characters they provided make it unusable.

Now the 2 hour IL2 film is nearly here from what the guys say about Faith Hope and Charity.... but - will it be obselete by the time it's finished? Will the plot, characterisation and richness of decor hold the attention for more than 15 minutes? Well it'll be exciting to see - as long as it's delivered in short episodes ala ****ens.

Now I need an air hostess next where's google...

Quite topical for me because I'm almost done making a film with 2-D lip sync in it. But I used Flash and did keyframe animation.

The disadvantage is that it takes a long time, but the advantage is that the animation is not restricted to just lip movement, but can wave arms or pick nose if I wanted it to, though I didn't do either....

Watch this space.

You mean building it one frame at a time? - or does flash automate it at all?

I suppose you could do one image with mouth open one with shut and just alternate clips?

Look foward to seeing a clip - have you got any rushes...

Whoa! That is neat, stenka. Another great enhancement for virtual movies http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'll increase your rating on this one (though it is kinda cheeky rating yourself 5 stars!)

yep, building one frame at a time.
quite tedious really. I drop it to 12fps but still that's quite a few to animate. What you do is draw 'keyframes' which will be the major sounds, like the vowels. Then you make 'inbetweens' to make the transition from keyframes smooth.

My film will be finished this week or next, so you can see it then, though I wouldn't see it for the lip sync because there is no audio dialogue that it is synchronising to! You'll see what I mean when you see it.

Right - I've done an animation exercise with the air-hostess character.

It's a not a full production - just a quickie music video with animated characters

LOL, Stenka.

Still some rough edges there, but it gets better all the time.

This has so much potential (we may have to extend FH&C to 3 hours now!)

Here's the result of an hours work (stealing your idea!) - what do ya think?

Brilliant - the only trouble now is that Tooz wants me to make the planes sing too - sort of like a flying Ivor the Engine......
