Help with buddy missions(Killing myself repeatedly to make rescue buddy my main buddy

Hey guys, I am trying to finish Far Cry 2 (post patch, though I never had a bug before the patch, but that's probably because I didn't really do much apart from like 3 missions since I was afraid of those bugs that would prevent me from completeing game)

anyway so right now I am at the last mission before I have to go save father maliya or my buddies, the one where you end up in desert and se the jackal, anyway before doing this mission, I decided to do all side missions and pick up all the diamonds in the north, which I didi, and ended up with the following situation.

I did all the main missions except for executing UFLL boss, I just finished doing all the side missions and collecting all diamonds, just the diamonds took me two days using a map... anyway so right after the last diamond I realized I had yet a couple of buddies to save so I just saved them and did their missions, the last mission I did (THe cuban/angolian girl gave it to me: which is to kill a convoy carrying furniture for some boss) I have a save right before finishing mission (I saved at the bus stop on the way there, and I also have a save after I finished missions and went back to Mike's bar and saved in the ammo house)

Anyway my problem is that I am missing two buddy side missions. Which after checking with an old save, are from my current rescue buddy, Marty. It happens that I was super careful throughout this part of the game and didnt lose any buddies so now I have to somehow make Mrty my main buddy in order to get his missions. In my really old save I killed off during a mission my main mission buddy, then marty became my main buddy, only after accepting amission, and then after that mission I was able to see him in Mike's bar to do his mission.

So, these are the two missions I'm missing, but since I don't want to re-do a bunch of the game, and get again all the diamonds, how can I, using either of my two saves, get Marty to be my main buddy?

The only thing, which I'll try tommorow, that occurs to me is maybe like kill myself, have him rescue me, then wait until he's avaialable to rescue again and repeat this process until his history is higher than my number one buddy, (Josip has 20 and Marty has 11) will this work? If so any tips on how to speed the process of at least making him appear in safehouses so he can be rescue ready again?

I would really appreciate it so I can move on to the game and go into the south and get all trophies(Reason why i am doing it.) I would hate to have to go back and lose like 5 days worth of gaming just so I could go back and use an old save...

If you're enjoying the game, you could just leave those missing missions for another playthru. I've played all my games several times, this one 6 times. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

it might b quicker to get hurt and then after he saves you and you two kill all then baddies and hes just walking around knock him around till he needs to saved then when he gets back up do it again (i did this by hitting him with my 4 wheeler total accident) just make sure you have the syretts to heal him

well I thought that most buddies by the time that they are hurt 3 times they dont recover with syrrettes, they die of OD. Plus actually when testing I saw that Michelle dies on the first time she is wounded!

Anyway update I was able to get my plan to work, sort of. I got Warren (Sry I meant Warren not Marty as I had said on my first post) to rescue me after drowning at mikes bar, ( was underwater until my life was on the last bar then simply didnt heal and collapssed) then he would rescue me, then I'd drive away to bus stop at Pala, then take bus to the bus stop on the south and go to the safehouse there that is 10 seconds away from the bus station. then he would be there and I made him rescue ready.

So I did this until he was top buddy (11 times, took me like 1 hour or perhaps more) then I finished the mission I was on which was a buddy mission that I had completed but needed to go into the bar to tell the buddy, After I did this. IT finally switched the order of the buddies (I even tested it and in this case Josip rescued me). However, then and after doing the final buddy mission for the other buddy (Flora) I still didn't get his missions to become available. I saved the game, incase you guys have any ideas on how to solve this.

I also tried at this point an idea: Killing off buddies since I heard that if you have more than like 3 buddies they won't fit in bar. nothing. Bar simply got empty and Warren never appeared (neither did the buddy I saved from the planecrash...but I heard that that's normal)

I Guess i will have to do a 2nd playthrough for that... Is just I really wanted to complete the game at 100% :\

Right now I Think before even doing any missions, I am going to get all the side stuff done to avoid this. I'll still leave the save there incase anyone has any idea.

By the way, these forums aren't as full as they used to be :\ perhaps it's because they split them into several categories.
