alrite guys to tell u the truth before this game came out i was so excited about the mic communication. on the MP video they are talking almost the whole time. The first 2 games i played of MP the day it came out i actually talked to my oppenet allot it was sooo fun. Now even if a person does have a mic they still dont seem to talk....guys from tjhe way ive experianced it communication is way funner. Now the online play seems a bit dull...i mean dont get me wrong its still fun but please guys talk more i think it would really boost gameplay.

I agree highly that good voice communication boosts gameplay dramaticaly. Hence why i typically play with a segregated group of individuals, because i know they all use mics.

I know exactly how you feel. I use my mic ALOT, hell I use it an insane amount, even having casual conversations in the lobby about other games while waiting for people. That is if I can find someone to talk to. It seems most people just ignore me even if they happen to have a mic. Pretty much you have to find a game called "mics only" (or my server which is always called "party time") to play with high mic usage people. Look for me online, I'm Mzorte, AKA the Nazi Server admin, don't F*** with me.

You just have to find yourself a partner with a mic...I dont mean someone who wanders into a server..but actually find one to play with. Me and my partner are constantly talking...it's all about teamwork.

I use it all the time. It's definitely invaluable to tell where you are going (as a merc) and where you see mercs (as a spy).

Original poster, I have no clue what you're talking about. The first thing I ask my partner is if they have a mic, and 90% of the time they do and talk back. Almost every game I played was with a talkative partner. It's pretty much impossible to play this game with any real co-ordination without voice comm.

Back to the topic: I know I'm quite talkative on the mic, but as others have mentioned the obvious, it's really the only way to play well. I can get by with folks who type, but it's much easier to say, "Ah crap, he gassed me in the _____ room" than it is to type it.

I have gotten to the point where I am disinterested in playing with a partner who has no mic.

Oh, I indeed do have a mic... and I would use it if it weren't for the auto-talk feature. I don't want to ruin the game for other by having them hear me breathe even though the mic is well away from my face. I cannot set the volume either because when I try to an error pops up.
I'm going to try my SOCOM 2 headset and see how that works.
In conclusion, my current mic is a total piece of garbage.
