Hi CB,

which sites do you mean? Do you have links? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

I'm also a little bit suprised that the devellopment of the german and the US SHIII site are not synchronised. E.G. the germans have some links to Fansites already up and there's nothing on the US-Site.
Even the picture-galleries are not identical.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Another Difference: On the german board there is a link to the US-board implemented. Obviously an one-way-street! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

And just found another one: One the german main site you can choose by klicking the flags to which site you want... HEHEHEHEHE, seems the Frenchies are not ready yet, or they have lost again? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

Thanks a lot ........

Whats thinks the german community about the manual shooting..........

Are many fans there ?

We need a more relistic method to measure ranges......

I know German Stadimeters, and read about Telemeters was fitted later, but no info about these last.......

Stadimeter may be easy to include, we have one in SH2, the scope view vertical angle chart can be used as a stadimeter if it is build more precise.........

If not we need a more precise reticle, it is not real at all, but in real life they was helped by Stadimeters and telemeters........

No sceen shots about any opf this features, bearing chart, reticle....... or a real mesurement method as stadimeter or telemeter.........

I am worry about that.................

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Hi Mr. Redwine.

Well, here in Germany we have other fears. There was no major community of AOD/CAOD/SH I which has survived to that time as SH II was coded. Only some played the old games and interacted via maillists, but those were international organisations, where german members participated.

When SH II was pre-launched, the idea of building up virtual combat flottillas by the Wolfpack league (which was similar to the idea born in the AOD community before! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif) to play online vs. human Destroyers attracted a lot of people and the community growed rapidly in a lot of seperated sub-organisations. (You can see them, when you take a look at the link-list of the german SH III page, almost all were born or heavily influeneced by SH II).
Therefore the interest of the potential german SH III players will be more in MP-features whereas the possibility to fight against human DD's is the strongest demand.

Now what do we want in summary:
This board is very driven regarding a dynamic campaign (single player minded).
The majority (?) of the german players want a MP-game , where they can fight against human DD's.

Personally I want both, because I'm one of the dinosaurs of the AOD community which is still living (only a few, only a few http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif) and interested in historical accurat design and dynamic campaigns, but as also beeing member of an SH II born flottilla interested in sinking german subs (I mostly took the part of the bad boys http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif) online! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm not quit sure if the developpers follow realy http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif the demands of their potential customers.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

But as written before, I always think that my glas is half full and I believe in the dev.team until they show me that I was wrong or right! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The Redwine's request is right. We have seen beautiful images, but nothing about the use of the sim or a screen wich geaves us an idea of the reality of the sim.

Cheers.

Thanks a lot Beltza.........

Thomsem......

I am worry and interested in the same things as your community.......

The matter is, if we will not have a dinamic campaing......... and will not have hummans DDs......

Almost i want a good level simulation.......

I do not want another "Enigma"

I ask about german community opinion not because I consider it a separate one....... all we the fans of subsims are a only one community........

The matter is germas have very good forums, some times I attempt to read them with traslators......... and i can see lot of nicknames which are not present in the english forums........ and is very interesting to know their opinion about many topics.........

But language is a big barrier.........

Thanks a lot for info..........

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gifHey, we do not have other opinions, we have another focus! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Of course we also want to have only a brand new AOD with human MP-DD's as opponents, but as I tried to explain...
When you see the historic devellopment as desribed above you know why the germans are more focussed on the MP-part. That does not mean, that they do not want a dynamic campaign. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Yep, language is a BIG problem. I have some comrades, where I have troubles to understand them, even when they speak german! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Although english is our major foreign language in school, you loose very quick the knowledge if you do not speak it more or less frequently.

But... Why don't you learn german? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif

It is a german uboat you are commanding and I'm told by a lot of other international comrades that the dubbing of "Das Boot" should be ridicoulus.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

And after all, YOU (!!) wanted the 100% realism! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

Okay, I'm only kidding http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Hallo Thomsen,

Es gibt aber manche Spanier die deutsch sprechen können, he,he....

One of the most beautiful things about being able to speak german is being able to get even more involved in the atmosphere of AoD and SH2

People who donâ´t speak german are missing a superb thing, and I believe that learning the basics ( Say 1-2 years ) would be worth it just for real inmersion with these games, if you are a real fan http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Cheers

I agree

I play SH2 with the german language (no translation or subtitle) and it's more immersive.

I have basic notion in german but it's enough to understand the meaning of the informations given by the crew

Ay Caramba http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Tried to learn french, but my tongue did not like it (I suppose). It seems I have a problem with the roman languages http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

@ Redwine

I can tell you... it does not help very much to speak the same language as a german girl, because it seems to me sometimes that they are from another planet (Oh yeah, Im married!) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
