While being bored this evening I decided to have a look around mp_boxcanyons. Very high quality map might I say, but it does have it's problems. This is merely to help the creator make better maps, cause I love em' so far =). Here's what I'm talking about.
The start of the map:

As I said, just pointing out some flaws to help improve this awesome map and the ones that hopefully follow. For all I know this could of been intended.

the ability to go all over the place is intentional. i hate colision walls.
also, what are your graphics settings? looks kinda different than on the testing rigs?

I love this map because you get to roam and not bump into crappy *** collision walls. That is one of the funnest aspects of far cry. Hey poster are you the guy who put the collision walls in 1.2. Be gone with you. Dont sabotage our maps. Better solution = limit amount of snipers.

Well, like I said, I didn't know if this was intentional or not. I was just trying to help. The idea of having a sniper sit on a mountain a mile away from a flag and not be seen isn't too fun to me.
And my graphics settings on this computer are low, low, and ultra low =P. Yea, my other computer took a dive and killed itself (power supply...waiting on new one).
And I love the map too, but you gotta have a limit. I mean if there aren't suppose to be any walls or objects to keep you out of areas then why is there a fence at the first attacker spawn?

Ok-gotta step in here and show some love for box. This map is well-made and rocks. Good job on it X. Having free roam was an excellent idea.

Ok, seeing as how you people don't get I was just trying to help, I'll reply with sarcasm.
Yes, I was trying to dethrone XTENCILATE's excellent map because I am jealous. The idea of having free roaming is unheard of and shouldn't exsist in a game like Far Cry that is so linear. Please, XTENCILATE and other map makers, make your maps just one long corridor wide enough only for one person, with flags every few feet or so.

I wasn't really suggesting invisible walls, maybe just increasing the slope angle?
I don't know, its not my map. Just making some suggestions.
Keep up the awesome work, I'm looking forward to more.

LOL Lucifer, Im sorry I was just busting your balls. I know you were trying to help. I think X made the slopes that way intentionally as a lot of people like to find ways to climb stuff in far cry. Yes people can camp the spawns but there is a way to camp the spawns from above in all of the other maps too and it doesnt seem to be a problem.
