Does anyone know what the dedicated server specs need to be?
I don't think it needs to be a highend computer with the greatest graphic cards. Dedicated servers don't need the use of graphics, and can virtually be a simple little program without all the hoopla of having to run the full game.
If anyone has this kind of information, it would be great for the community.

Not to be rude but the "FIND" tab is your friend. There are probably 30 or so previous topics regarding dedicated servers.
Currently there are no "Stand Alone Dedicated Server" files. The reason I use the SADS acronym is because GRIN doesn't see their dedicated server as the same as what most of us think a dedicated servers should be. Their current dedicated server must be launched from an ingame menu. Meaning that the game must be installed with CD Key on the cpu that will be running the server. Which also means that you must have the CD in the drive and a compatible video card (Minimum Nvidia Gforce 6000 series or ATI 9550).
There has been alot of outcry and posts pleading for SADS files. So you are not alone in your wishes.
There are currently plans to release SADS files in a "June" patch. When that will arrive has not been announced.

There are currently no specs released for what the dedicated server needs to run, hopefully nearer the release they will tell us.
Ignore the first post there as he obvioulsy forgot to read the post. Forum is full of them.

Just another thing, who the hell said June for dedicated server files ? Lok at the official statement and they say summer release not the June patch.
Throughout the summer:
* Team Deathmatch, Hamburger Hill modes, Original GR co-op mode, Map editor for TDM, HH, OGR co-op, GRAW co-op improvement (quick start and respawn) and Dedicated Server pack

No, I did read the the original post. There have been dozens like it already. If he had searched the forums he would have found all that and more about the "dedicated server" current state and what little info has been announced regarding the SADS files. Including some discussions about server load and performance impact and bandwidth being used but the current DS.

He happens to be 'SHE'.
And, the reason I asked it the way I did was because... Think about this for a moment, I asked what the dedicated server specs needed to be, not what the game itself needs.
If you know anything about dedicated servers, then you will know that dedicated servers usually don't need highend video cards to run, nor that much CPU as the regular game requires since it is not having to process video and all the other functions of the game except for connection and player references.
There are major difference between a dedicated server which does not need huge video and CPU processing, while the game needs huge video and a decent CPU.
So, before you criticize my post, please understand that I'm looking for nothing more than a dedicated server specifications.
Maybe there will be more info upon release and/or before release of the dedicated server pack.

Like most dedicated server binaries, you are correct you will not need a vid card in each server. Yep you are correct a low end card will work. But this ingame server is not the ideal way to host, but does for the time being.
We are really looking forward to getting our hands on the ded server binaries!
