Path of the shell download update

After installing Uru the path of the shell,
( fron disc) my pc tries to download updates.
I then get a message saying that updates cannot be downloaded. a
I get the same routine evry time i try to run the game. which then terminates.
Any suggestions anyone - Thank you

The automatic updates feature was built into the original version of the game to support the LIVE/online feature... which was, of course, cancelled.

But, I'm not sure why it's doing it now... I don't think mine tries to do any kind of update...

Did you install the PotS expansion over a "clean" version of Ages Beyond Myst? (Not Until Uru, I mean...)

Also, PotS usually installs itself in a different directory that ABM was originally installed in... Is the startup screen somehow trying to start up the older, non-expanded version if it's still in the old directory/folder?

Maybe this should be moved over to Tech Support...

I am having the same trouble as this. The "search for update" box comes up then it says there are no new updates and shuts everything off.
Has anyone got some help with this? I have no trouble playing Uru, just this expansion doesn't want to work.
