The following is a paid advertisement from the 11th Flotilla

Kaleuns! Are you tired of your Flotilla Commander running you halfway across the ocean, just to patrol a dead grid? Do you find yourself on the unfortunate side of luck with your brand "x" Flotilla?

Then head on over to the 11th Flotilla in Bergen, Norway where life as a submariner is better! Here you are free to be what you are best, and that's being a cold-blooded maritime killer. Come and enjoy only 4 hours of daylight in the mid-winter months and spend the other 20 hours stalking your prey in pure darkness. See the sights of a beautiful outbound or inbound journey to and from port though the scenic Norwegian channels. On your off duty time, you can ice-fish, enjoy a mildly chilly dip in a lake or just take the time and head down to the docks see the local whale fishermen disemboweling their catch of the day. You may even be selected as the very first test diver for a new and highly secretive submarine!

As an added bonus to you GWX card members, we are offering a guaranteed British Task Force consisting of four Dido Class Cruisers and one fat Illustrious Fleet Carrier (located in grid AF87) upon every departure from June though December of 1942... absolutely free!

So what are you waiting for, head on down to your local command's office desk, pick up the phone and call for your transfer today!

Disclaimer: Children under the age of 18 must get their parents permission before dialing. Offer good until the war is over. Residents of Puerto Rico, Tahiti, Singapore and Ireland are prohibited from entering due to unwanted civil disruption. Not liable for any bouts of sleep apnea, irritable bowl syndrome, STDs or hypothermia. See your physician if you develop these symptoms. Type II Kaleuns are not permitted to sign, because we hate midget submarines.

Thanks, I just wanted to put a different spin on the true meaning of my post...and that was about the Task Force in AF87.

I grabbed my favorite boat (the IXC) in the 10th flotilla, then after three ho hum patrols, I transfer to the 11th Flotilla. I feel that the IXC is a true powerhouse in that region, especially with GWX.

Now I discover that every time I leave Bergen I get a report of a Task Force and every time their Illustrious gets the "Deep-Six". You'd figure that the British High Seas Fleet Command would get tired of loosing their vaunted fleet carriers but NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Didn't realise the RN had so many fleet carriers to throw around http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But thanks for the tip - and as I said, well presented http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I did find one drawback about running from Bergen..... you can quite easily be in a situation while passing through the fjords in and out of port, where you have no room to dive and the game has decided that it's too rough for any Flak gunnery. I was caught inside the fjords by six Sunderlands (coming from mainland Norway!). Couldn't dive (6m under the boat), couldn't manoeuvre in the narrow channel and couldn't fight back!

What was the mod you were running and year (in the game) that you were attacked by the Sunderlands? This is interesting because I have never been attacked by aircraft anywhere near Bergen... well, not yet at least.
