Gameplay needs to have more to it, every street should have something to offer see Godfather/GTA/and pritty much any brilliant free roam game.

Enviroment should be diverse a huge made up city making us get everything we want in it. As for what the enviroment should be like in feel style wise
- Should have small village (slum) like places
- city centre, modern fancy
- Forest land and fields, (bumpy and muddy)
- Mountain roads like seen on top gear the one with the astonmartin db9, lamborghini, and 911.
- Motorways would be cool, like your original M8.
- The Sleezy money side of the city
- A bit of the city much like the bronx, with the way the houses are.
- Working industry, factorys etc

It should feel like these cities,
London
Glasgow
NYC
Vegas
Rio
Nice
and of course Hollywood

As for which extras should be involved in the eniroment
- Schools, Hospitals, Police stations, public services etc
- Shops, garages, factorys etc
- Safehouses, extra indoor places

I was extremely impressed by rockstars canis canem edit or better known BULLY. It whole idea of going up the street to cause caos was good. To mention it felt ALIVE, It really felt ALIVE. People walking around doing things, people interacting with u and you not having to make all the effort. You would get attacked by the different gangs and movements, another idea for driver. Having different groups. Not as well executed in the godfather but bully got it right.

Assault_Machine said get rid of the pre rendered cutscenes and i agree with him aslong as the in-game graphics are like those of MAFIA2, there is an in-game shot.

And i'm Not completely against the idea of a 1940/50's era, aslong as it feels like a 1970's car chase game. If it is going to be set in the present dont make it look gritty or anything make it feel and look like DPL 1978, the 2006 bit felt/looked quite frankly $hite.

And please dont make the in-game music rap/hip hop does NOT fit in with driver, it dosnt feel right. Makes you feel like a pimp

I read that bar pic for Mafia 2 is pre-rendered, not real graphics but a "mock up", though it looks in-game. That first pic of the city looks great.

I agree about the forests, countryside areas to explore well beyond the city. A city is nice, but rarely has the best roads for great vehicle jumps, twists, turns and and chases.

Test Drive Unlimited in-game shots are quite simply amazing and I'd be happy with something like that.

I need to put this next pic in simply because its awesome but not in-game

Yeah, Test Drive Unlimited was my favorite game of 2007, even though I bought it Dec 2006.

The 1800 square mile map rarely gets old, thanks to the ability to go offroad anywhere, and the roads kick @ss compared to the ones in the Driver series.

Some good points made, I guess.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Here are the cities that I want to see in the next Driver game:

Option 1: (This would be a good option for all American cities)
Set in the present day in:
New York, NY, USA (all boroughs) with extentions to Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and the Hudson Valley

Chicago, ILL, USA with extentions to Indiana and Wisconsin
Las Vegas, NV, USA with extentions to Area 51, The Hoover Dam, California, and Arizona
Los Angeles, CA, USA with all of Los Angeles County
San Diego, CA, USA with extentions to Tijuana, Mexico
San Francisco, CA, USA with extentions to San Jose, Oakland, El Cerrito, Marin County, and other places around the San Francisco Bay

Option 2: (This would be a good option for International cities)
Set in the present day in:
New York, NY, USA (all boroughs) with extentions to Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and the Hudson Valley

Toronto, ON, CA with extentions to Niagara Falls (both Canada and USA) and Buffalo, NY
London, England with all of its districts

Option 3: (This would be a good option for a good city in the 1970s)
Set in 1976 in:
Philadelphia, PA, USA

I would like the next Driver game to be set ONLY Anglican-like countries. Countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Bermuda, etc. The countries that speak English and have a lot in common with the UK is what we need. That's what Driver is REALLY about when it comes to setting. Don't like it? Well go play James Bond. In fact, the one thing I love about the USA (I don't mean to boast, since I'm American) we have pretty much any environment in this country. It looks like the whole world pretty much. There are hills, praries, beaches, tropical areas, deserts, countryside, cities, industrial areas, etc, etc.

Well to be fair you are an entire contenant and well Europe has that too. Plus a fictional place would be so much better for game-play reasons

Driverman2006

A fictional place will only make it feel more like GTA. See, that's one thing that has always seperated Driver from GTA, Driver is set in real places, and GTA is set in fictional places. That's the way I see it. In fact, why don't they just model the whole damn world this time in the next Driver game and being 100% accurate? Wouldn't we all be happy with that? I would.

I completely disagree, what seperates GTA from Driver is Driver has less gameplay and is more realistic in terms of graphics and physics. The location dosnt impact that much, GTA is what it is. I find it very naive to think that Driver has only survived because it was set in a real location. That would interest those who live in that area, and the whole world is a bigger number. So massive difference in culture would interest everyone.

Except replace Toronto with Calgary, and Im good. Facts: We have the Calgary Stampede, Bankers Hall, Canadian Pacific's HQ, the Calgary Tower, my house (not to special, lol), we take up about the same area as NYC, fairly good crime rate (gangs, petty crimes, killings and such), A transit system with busses and trains, Chinook Mall with a new expansion with many major stores not yet in Canada in it and.... Stephen Harper (Canadian Prime Minister) is from here!
So that's even more reasons that Calgary is awesome and should be in a Driver game.

What a international option http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif London, the little US besides all US cities http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif It could be ok to have all US cities in one or two Drivers, but there's lots more of exciting and never seen cities. From russia to thailand, I guess you haven't seen many of them and don't think they are anything compared Chigago and NY. America is Driver's heart, but no sense using same cities in every game.

I rather want 3 different cities around the world than 10 from east coast of USA. But I don't support fictional cities at all. People want Driver to take GTA's path more and more and I see no reason at all.

They all have to be smartly in story, that's the main point.
