Firstly I must admit that im relatively new to combat sim especially Lock On so if this has been posted before or sounds stupid plz shout!
Often when I fly on the internet I start all alone. (When the server has been in progress for some time.) I figured thats normal because everyone has already taken off! However even after haven takenoff I can't seem to see anyone visually within miles and I hate the thought of soloing a mission ONLINE. So my question is: How can you find other allied players so that intercept, fly in formation ect. if you've just arrived at the server? Is it possible to track them down like way points?
Thanks Alot im getting all lonely.

You could read the briefing & check out the map so that you know where the others should be. You could also get on the server's teamspeak channel. Depending on the time of day- the server won't always be really busy. If you're not up to LOMAC version 1.12 - you're seeing a fraction of the online pilots.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well Ironhand is the Tutorial king. www.flankertraining.com (http://www.flankertraining.com) Too much to type, but some tips are- some servers will have either an AWACS or an EWR (early warning radar)in play. If you are in a Russian fighter- you will get a datalink that shows the position of both friendly & hostile aircraft- within certain parameters. These systems -especially ground based EWR- are limited by line of sight- you won't see ALL planes ALL the time.

Broadcasting in TWS mode will give you a view of who is around you- sort of.. You still have to manipulate the radar to see anything. This means if the guy is right in front of you -but at a different altitude- you won't see him unless you adjust the radar to where he is at. Jamming negates the use of TWS, but also serves as a neon sign advertising your presence. So does the use of radar for that matter. Broadcasting your radar allows you to detect targets, but at a price- you alert others to your presence.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

i actually would like to dogfight wich no one seems to like.

hunting beyond visual range using radar to me is as boring as watching paint dry.

its amazing that i can never find no one that wants to dog fight guns only considering the great flight models lockon has.

i dont even bother anymore going to hyperloby
