Here's some for where I live.

It is illegal to have over 16 women live in a house together because that constitutes a brothel. However up to 120 men can live together, without breaking the law.

It it illegal to sleep on top of a refrigerator outdoors.

A special cleaning ordinance bans housewives from hiding dirt and dust under a rug in a dwelling.

If you dig around on that site, you'll find all sorts of strange holdovers from older times. Up in a couple of the northern states, they have old laws like: any gathering of more than 3 Indians legally is considered a war party, and you are allowed to open fire on them.

Crossbows are indeed banned on the island, though obviously you won't get nicked for it if you have a gun license. They didn't have the 'It is completely legal to shoot any Scotsman on Port Erin beach on new year's eve if he is wearing a kilt and playing the bagpipes' law.

In my neck of the woods if you hit a cow that wondered out onto the road, you have to pay for the cost of the cow and any medical expenses it may need. If the cow dies, you have to pay the farmer for any profits he might have lost in the future due to the cow dieing.
