That article is mostly behind the times. Anyone that has ever done research on anything involving a person overcoming a challenge knows video games can be used as a teaching and/or conditioning tool.
Also the last paragraph makes me giggle. It's so disgustingly Disney-cliche that it makes me want to go masturbate to images of naughty Disney princess just to offset the utter innocence of it all.
