It's far from done, there are alot of white peices left on the aircraft mainly around the wing roots and such, I think about 80% done.
Thanks to Friendly_Flyer for his metal layer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Keep in mind that the prototype wouldn't be weathered very much, and there almost certainly wouldn't have been blowback stains from the guns, or possibly even any guns at all.
Just a thought, though; that is a really nice skin you're working on.

I think I agree with Goodwood here, you should try turning off any wear-layers. Also, I think I would go for a more polished look, perhaps adding a bit of highlight on the matel parts.

Huummm, it seems to me that prototype had fabric covered wing.....

I am aware of the fact that the Hurricane prototype had fabric wings, but I have been constantly trying to get the right effect without success. Friendly_Flyer, like I said first time around, its because I am using Servals template for the base so I didn't turn off the weathering layers yet.
Also, the markings on the fuselage need moving down I think.
Thanks @ Buglord. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Seanorris, Im confused. You have used F/Flyers metal layer and Servals Hurri template inc weathering, panel lines etc... Which bits exactly did you do SN??? All I can guess is the tail number and roundels??
I am not having a go like, just a bit confused as it seems to be 90% the work of others??? It does look good, but I aint gonna heap praise on it if all you've done is slap and number and a few roundels on it. Like I say, just a bit puzzled http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Yes, but it's not finished, when I do find accurate drawings of the wings and such of the prototype, I intend to draw all of the wing section again, I did use Servals weathering, yes, but they wasn't needed, so I don't need to use them at the moment.
Right now all I can find is this:
http://www.raf.mod.uk/history/images/hurrihistprot3vw.gif
I'm not 100% sure on how accurate this actually is.
On this picture, however:
http://www.aeronautics.ru/archive/wwii/photos/gallery_005/Hurricane%20prototype%20K5083%20-%20early%201936.jpg
It seems to show the same effect as the canvas part of the rear section on the fue****e, so I hope to make it as accurate as I can on the model we have.

Wow SeaNoris! I believe you chose the most challenging skin posible. Can't dazzle or distract us with weathering, slick markings, or groovy nose art. From that photo it looks as if you make the metal parts way too shiny and the canvas parts too dull or reveal to much structure you will be dead on. Good luck tiger! CL.

It's also one I am quite glad I chose to do aswell, last night I started on the wings ''canvas'' effect a little bit so I think it will be done by next Sunday, if I continue at the small rate I am going at :tounge:
Also, this will be my first skin that contains all my own panel lines, and I don't know if I should try and shine the front section up more, because that effect will look ugly in game as it is static, and I am not a fan of polished metal stuff.

Good Idea doing the canvas wing lines, It will really pay off in the end even it it takes ahile to achive.
metal wings just wouldnt look right
