I know it's a litle bit early to start worring but I have to react on the polish FaQ
The infromation about magic given there says, that there are going to be ý magic shools
Elemental (Fire, water, Earth, Air)
Light Dark
And Primordial.
I had two things on my mind when i read this.
1: Isn't it going to be overcomplicated? To many school, won't it by to limiting for players (I had the feeling that this si whot BH tryes to avoid). And I'm worried that it will end up whit 3 identical spells with diferent names.
2: WHy did BH enlarge the Magic system on the one hand, and on the other they reduced the resources? Isn't this a litle counter productive? They wanted to Awoid that One faction rellyes on One resource but did exactly that to the magic system?
Just wanted to know other opinionss, or to get som clarification.

It's to early to speculate the exact nature of this system and how it will work.
However, they probably are going back more to the Heroes III model of spell division by elemental theme rather then spell division by spell type.

So where does Counterstrike go, Air as in H3, or Light as in H5? What about Magic Mirror, and Endurance, etc.

I think its going to be great, more options means more fun.
I alawys wanted more spells and abilities in Heroes and now my wish is coming true http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
and remember its MIGHT AND MAGIC HEROES not heroes of M&M so they will focuses on hero progression a lot now, along with the RTS part.

The spell system in H5 doesn't allow spell differentiation with respect to the number of factions. Having a total of 4 school of magic and each faction being native in 2 of them, makes room for a total of 6 combinations. Already starting from the first expansion of H5, the dwarves and the elves had the same magic schools. With orcs they managed an work-around by not giving them any spells. However, there are going to be 1 or 2 new races (for sure 1 included in H6) in Ashan according to Ubisoft, so the spell system as it is does not differentiate between the factions.

Well to be exacte, the Dwarves nad orc had their owne magic.. So you can say that there were 6 schools, but 2 were limited for 1 nation only

Primordial according to the tiny bit of info we have on it, is linked to Asha and Urgash.
So it's magic of both Order and Chaos.
My guess is it will be powerful unique magic with very unusual effects.
