today is my birthday, so i when figured that out, i was kinda hoping for the apocalypse or for my head to explode or something.

well, happy birthday.
I wish I could say I was smart enough to have come up with this on my own, but I'm not. My high school Comp Sci teacher sent me a note on Face Book pointing it out.

Or you could have seen where I posted it here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4091020922/m/7321097188?r=1921088188#1921088188). I had to write that date down at work for something a few weeks ago. Didn't take too long to realize that 101010 was binary for 42, and as a Hitchhiker fan, instantly recognized the significance of it.
